Hilarious captions. Especially - Here comes the bridge.
I was laughing initially but actually it isn't funny. It's just that we are accustomed to see the lighter side of things.
Chemical fog/foam floating and flying a first anywhere in the World I presume.

They have put barricades from yesterday. The difference at 7AM is the congestion is moved under the Benniganahalli bridge and later next to the upramp of hanging bridge the traffic is relaxed. A honeymoon period for people coming from Hebbal ORR side, until they begin work on the metro stretch between RMZ Infinity and Tin factory. Thats when hell will break loose on the ORR side

This is how it is today morning. From Ramamurthynagar till Swami Vivekananda road took me 30 minutes on two wheeler. Will never consider using car on this stretch in the near future.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

This has caused the traffic to backup up all the way to Railway Parallel Road. Barricades put in between the temporary "Byapanahalli Metro Lake"

Long live BBMP!! Thanks for the minor comforts of actually putting a barricade so that people don't fall in!

P.S. : Photo resized.

Until last week I bypass this bad stretch from Benniganahalli bridge till MM temple by using FCI Godown Road and by joining NH 44 near BP fuel station.
But now even this is becoming painful due to overcrowded Kasturi Nagar Railway underpass
No better alternates while returning home too.
Tough days ahead!
Cheers!

Thanks for sharing this. Its a well taken proof of the current situation. Not surprising in a city where accountability and quality do not exist in the books. Our area was dug up at a stretch of 1 km since September. Lot of 4 inch pipes are thrown around, which residents believe, to be laid under ground. Now to make the situation worse, some other department is digging the other side of the road, leaving just 2 meters space in the centre. It was hardly 3 months back some department had dug up centre of the road and not covered it well since then. I believe these are works that were supposed to be done 10 years back. God save Bangalore !

I had a drive from Hebbal to Lalbagh early morning. The entire route has fresh patch works which I assume just hours old. I really wonder how many of these will survive 30 days from now

Wow! Its been ages I have take this road. I used to live in this stretch around couple of decades back. This used to be my trail running track. What a loverly track it used to be, lush green surroundings and serine. When HAL airport was operative, there used to be a small road leading to the fuelling stock yard on the same stretch. Somewhere around 2007-10 the road got noticed by public due to often blockage of Old Airport road. Rest is history.

Only difference now and then is, earlier HAL/NAL/Airforce used to maintain the road, now BBMP maintains.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

They have started filling potholes but as expected, its just shoddy patchwork. With rains continuing to pound the city, these may not last even a month.

More than us, I have started feeling really bad for school going kids in the morning. On some of the routes, the school buses get perennially stuck and considering most of these buses are non-AC, the kids are subjected to incessant honking and dust all around.

Quality of life has taken a big beating.

3 lane traffic from ORR + 2 lane traffic of ITPL road + 2 lane traffic of Hoskote NH = 7 lane traffic reduced to 1 lane and add to that there is crisscrossing which effectively means 7 lanes getting squeezed to half a lane. Now with non existent roads, potholes everywhere and water logging, I am sure google will run out of coloring scheme for TIN factory

Beat that for a rant

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Bangalore's traffic has reached unprecedented levels.

Yes, there is a possibility of traffic jams and bumper to bumper traffic on some roads at some particular time of the day in any big city such as Bangalore.

But has anyone ever seen jams and bumper to bumper traffic all over a city?

Caution to all those who plan to drive down to Bangalore to enjoy the "garden city". Be prepared for the shock of your lives when you enter the city for the first time as I am sure no matter where you come from, you will be stunned!

And you won't even get a chance to take U-Turn without suffering for a long time!
