Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

That eco space water logging looks scary. I work inside that tech park and never thought it could go this bad.
I am heading to Bangalore from Mysore tonight, and will reach around 11pm. Need to pass through E.city, Silk board, ORR, Marathahalli. Hope I won't be stranded anywhere and have to turn back.

I guess the makers would never have thought that it would literally become a correct statement.
Am wondering how to come out of Intel tomorrow! And to think they were repairing the road last Tues!

Seems like Ecospace could be a bottle neck tomorrow too

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Have been working in ecospace for the past 7 years. Never ever was there a water logging in front of it, and never thought it could turn out notorious for this reason.
Way to go Bangalore, even almighty cannot help you. All the best!!

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

This is just crazy this year. The infrastructure isn't improving and the rains aren't abating. A dangerous combination for us, who commute on the ORR each day.

Forget car and motorcycle, I did not have space to ride through on a cycle the other day. Had to take 5 deviations off the regular path to just get home.

Some more pics from Ecospace ORR. Looks like some of the companies have asked their employees to work from home..

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Bangalore traffic is insane and needs some hard measures. I had to visit Bannerghatta Road from the airport. While sitting in my uber cab at 550pm, I got an estimated arrival of 736pm. In the end, I reached at 920pm. Way longer than my 2.5 hour flight from Delhi.

Update from this morning on twitter :-

"There is still 1 feet deep water logging. Eco space Service Road is blocked. Only 1 lane moving on main ORR. "

Looks like a Manic Monday is about to be unleashed on Outer Ring Road today. This one waterlogging will have a cascading effect on the entire ORR streach.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Folks in Intel have been told to work from home. The campus has limited access but all transport has been suspended. Ecospace office has been closed

I just got into eco space in car.

Drove from BTM to Eco space. Some congestion just before Silk board due to bad road. After that, up to Eco space it was real fast surprisingly. Then comes the challenge of taking the U-Turn at Intel flyover. Water level is quite high (about more than a foot) and two wheeler's were prohibited to take that. Needed to struggle a bit to get across the water. However, no much issues if you come from Marathahalli side and take the flyover. But there is some traffic atop the flyover.

I am not sure about the condition from Eco space towards Marathahalli.

ORRCA has advised companies to declare WFH as per a mail from our admin team. This is big hit on productivity but still better than people spending time on roads and reaching office exhausted.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Sarjapur Junction - Kadubeesinahalli junction ORR

Sarjapur junction till EcoSpace looked liked a weekend with very less traffic, there was slight congestion near EcoSpace on Marthahalli side due to line of vehicles queuing up for U turn to Ecospace from below the flyover.

Past that, again smooth sailing till Kadubeesinahalli. However, on direction from Marathahalli - Sarjapur junction, there is still water logging in front of Ecospace.

Both in main road and service road water logging is only ~ 30 cms deep. Vehicles are plying in boht main and service road, however due to water the movement is slow and hence there is a long line of traffic all the way till Kadubeesinahalli (around new horizon college).

This was at today morning ~ 8.50.
