Exactly the issue I faced. I went to a shopkeeper and he refused to sell me trumpet horns because as per him even that is banned. Then I asked how can it be banned when its OE in German cars. As per him, that is a Skoda horn and it is okay, but if its fitted externally like on a Maruti/Hyundai and other cars as well as bikes its banned. I was for his logic but equally angry on the police for such flawed logic. Maybe the police are going by the same logic. I was looking to replace the meek single horn on my Ninja to a single trumpet but that did not work.

From what is actually meant by shrill horns, they are the air horns fitted on heavy vehicles which are actually meant to be banned. Even the ban on number plates is being strictly enforced, but not sure for how long. I see that most of these number plates with special titles are being removed.

The party workers of a National party have created havoc on NICE Road today in the name of "Parivarthan rally". It took me 1 hour to reach Magadi Road from Mysore Road.

The FB link is either deleted or made private. This is what I get when I click on the link :"Sorry, this content isn't available right now

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Going OT, I think I have found my favourite small town around bangalore in terms of traffic sense, Koratagere. Unlike most such towns, hardly any two wheeler was driving on the wrong side, autos waited for vehicles on the main road to pass before cutting across the road and people looked before crossing. The place was relatively cleaner too. Wonder what makes the people of this place behave different?

Again, OT. Sorry - I can hardly agree with you on this. I am a regular traveler to Madhugiri, via Koratagere. The folks hardly follow any traffic rules and the situation is very similar to any other towns in and around Bangalore. In fact the main road did not actually "exist" (no tarmac) for decades. Only 2-3 years ago the work started and some sort of road is there now. And I attribute the cleanliness in that town to a recent visit by our CM there.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Anyone @ Manyatha know about what is going on in the mornings for the past week. The traffic is piled up from Hebbal till Manyatha. It is taking about 20 minutes to crossover - after the Veeranapalya flyover , the flow is smooth.

Is there some construction happening on the service road ?

raghu

Yes, the service road has been dug up for some pipeline work and closed in a horrible way. Two lane road has become one due to this. On top of this, they brought in a JCB to repair today at 9 am. 😬

I have no sympathy for that man. Firstly, these people should learn that emotions and sympathies wont give them the right to break rules. How can one commit a bunch of offenses and then cry that they aren't rich enough to pay up? The police arent doing any sort of extortion. That is how they are blamed these days. There could be cases of false complaints or being flagged down inspite of no offence committed. But in this case, he was caught red handed for signal jumping, and neither was his history clean.

We really have to appreciate the traffic police. At least they are putting some efforts to induce fear among people. I dont see much of cabbies crossing the stop lines, breaking queues etc. They are being clamped down heavily.

Do not believe any newspaper or for that matter media in general. Take everything with a pinch of salt.

It is quite possible someone else used the Auto and accumulated the fines. Remember, not all auto drivers own their vehicle

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

According to BTP, there is a candle light protest at brigade road against demonetization by the ruling party here. People travelling towards that stretch be aware!
