A different kind of experience

This happened last month.

We were on our way from BTM layout to Forum Value mall on a Sunday evening. Traffic was very light and we were enjoying this rare scenario.

On Sarjapur road a Tavera with commercial number plate suddenly comes out of nowhere. He almost hit me from back while braking for a speed bump. He then honks like mad and squeezes himself between my vehicle and a two wheeler and takes off. In front of my eyes he brakes again 3 times, making couple of two wheelers go off road and almost hits a bus. Then he zooms again and disappears.

After around half a kilometer, I see one two wheeler guy has stopped him and arguing with him. I also join in. I wanted to speak some sense into him, but he kind of ignores both of us and takes off again.

Around 10 minutes later we reach Bellandoor crossing. There is a huge traffic jam there. It takes us almost 10 minutes to reach the crossing and finally see the reason of the jam.

The same guy from that Tavera was getting beaten by 2 guys. I wish he had listened to me.

Now thats the part I like!
If you can't put sense into a person, leave a mark on him so he'll remember!

As for the pic taken( where the jokers in that SUV jumped the signal), the lesser said the better. These guys probably thought they were part of a convoy escorting the PM, hence no rules apply! Big bunch of morons!

Excellent stuff. There is a proverb in Hindi.
'Laton ke bhoot baaton se nahin maante'

I hope he got the message that rash driving
will not be tolerated.

And sadly, it ends in fisticuffs. Though what the tavera guy did is wrong, resorting to physical violence shows how degraded our traffic system and adherence to rules have become.

Today morning just after dairy circle I was following a VW Jetta and admiring the tail light assembly. I was at a safe distance from the car. Suddenly the Jetta swerved left and then I got to see the reason why. There were two guys on a bike who stopped dead in the middle of the road and were looking behind. I too swerved left and from the rear view mirror I sensed that these buggers were waiting for someone to catch up with them. And they were in the middle of the road. I am still baffled at their consideration of life, their life. Some ignorant or distrated driver could have easily pasted them on the road.

Texting on 2 wheelers

well,
In the evening around 5:30 pm yesterday, i have seen a guy on a two wheeler texting someone while riding on the Langford road signal to Adugodi road. There was heavy traffic and this fellow is coolly texting someone while occasionally looking at the road in quick successions. Though i lost my cool, i couldn't do anything.

Later in the day at around 9:00pm, the same thing happened on the koramangala Sony World signal - Indoor stadium road. This guy on a motor cycle overtook me, takes out his mobile and keeps staring at it and the road. He is not talking, but looking at it in quick successions holding it in the other hand placed near his trouser pocket. Now i am totally pissed off and started to honk at him so that he stops looking and concentrates on the road.

First he seemed to respond but it lasted for only a 50 meters or so. He started looking at it again while riding and he is still riding in front of my jeep hardly 10-15 meters ahead. I start to honk again this time using the highway horn and this got into his ears i guess. At the signal, he stops and turns around giving me that 'stare'. He stopped on the extreme right side. i pulled up on the other side and shouted at him to first stop the vehicle and look at his mobile. Few of the motorists at the signal were staring at me and a few at him. I think he was embarrassed by this. He then held his mobile up in the air, put it in his pocket and waved in acceptance.

Regards,
Krishna.

Bellandur junction. Last evening around 6:45 PM.

The smart cops manning the junciton decide that the easiest way to dissolve the traffic jam is to open the floodgates to traffic which is coming from both the Bellandur lake side, as well as those coming from the opposite side. Since from both sides there are vehicles which want to go straight, turn right and turn left, what ensued was perfect mayhem.

Soon, we had a perfect gridlock situation with vehicles from opposite directions face-to-face with each other, honking like crazy and literally adding to the chaos. The intelligent cops who were responsible this mess stood around watching the fun... guess they get a high out of this.

An idiotic biker with pillion who tries to play cool dude and squeeze between the front of my car and a truck leaves a deep scratch on my car's bumper in the process. In the midst of traffic all i could do was shower him with the choicest of abuses about his family members...

Thank you, Bangalore traffic police.

Bennychaayo, I've dealt with a fair number of these imbeciles back in the day when I was in B'lore. I've also seen some guys who very skillfully swerve their bikes in and out of traffic without causing any damage to any vehicle around. If that's done, then to an extent I easen up, but if any damage is caused then those guys get the best piece of my mind!

khe khe khe.
By the way, I stay away from these 2 wheelers when there is a jam. Either I leave no space for them to go, or I leave enough space.

Last year, A truck rear ended my Esteem on the Mysore-Bangalore highway. After that incident, I must admit that I am pretty scared of these morons. I just move away as far as possible to avoid them. My office is close to Electronics city and probably, everyday I come across these trucks and not to mention the notorious private buses with blaring horns.
Last week, I was on the Bullet and waiting at the signal just before the entrance to the toll station. A truck was speeding towards the signal, horns blaring. He jumps the signal at the same speed, inspite of all mess and keeps going.
What I have observed is that these trucks are more recklessly driven when they are not carrying any load.
These days, I rarely take the Bullet, I feel much safer in the Bolero.

Today morning I was walking from the Marathahalli underpass towards Marathahalli Junction Bus Stop towards Old Airport Road. Up the ramp.

Since this is a one way I am looking over my shoulder to see if any vehicles are coming so I can cross over to the other side. I am not looking infront.

I turn to look infront and there is a screech and I see a woman with an unstrapped flimsy helmet inches away from my left leg. She looks at me and say, "Look, where you are walking".

"Look?" You are coming down the wrong side.

She looks at me and says "You should look this side." I understand this is ideal candidate for Darwins Theory and will pay for it someday. I just walk off.

What's with the sudden construction of speed breakers that too unmarked on the ORR right after the Bellandur junction.

They built one on the ring road on BSK 3rd stage after Devegowda Bunk too. One day there is no bump and the next day you go flying over them.

Hahahaa, hilarious. But its happened to me often too. And they have the audacity to scream at us when they are going in the wrong lane, in the wrong direction. I have even seen 2 bikes recently riding towards traffic on the Bangalore elevated highway! Idiots!!
