It was closed by BWSSB on friday morning as a proper surprise to users of that road. Was a scene of confusion and hurry and vehicles were found in every bylane. I crossed the railway gate and was greeted with a road closed board as we head right. Hence, I decided to take the small road next to the track itself and continued. A TT decided to follow me and tried to negotiate that small gap between the compound and the water pipe that crosses the track. In this process, he landed in a ditch and the TT tilted so badly that it was stuck in that gap with one wheel in air and its roof resting on the water pipe wall. So much hurry.

That's the shortest route but it's in pretty bad shape. It's ok till Huskur village but then gets pretty bad till you join Chandapura road.

What car do you have? If you go slow it should be fine.

Thanks,

Are there any alternate routes?
What's the condition of the road through jail road?
I will be traveling on a scooty. I don't mind riding few extra kms if the road condition is good.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Yesterday morning I heard from a colleague that the Graphite Road was being asphalted, any update on this ?
To avoid getting caught in the mess while the work is in progress I avoided that route last evening.

Narayan, I saw lot of stones lying on the Graphite India Main road this morning. I guess the entire stretch will be tarred. Hopefully ,for the benefit of the commuters.

Accident alert: huge pile up, not sure what happened exactly but seems like a new Honda city rear ended a Celerio. Surprisingly Honda city seems to have been badly damaged
Location: just before panathur underpass on ORR travelling from agara to Marathahalli

OT: If you go through some of the reviews posted by users about the crash worthiness of Honda City, the reviews have been predominantly negative especially the build quality of the car.

I dont deny that. Damage of that kind for rear ending a celerio in city traffic is surprising. I could see these two cars only. There could be some other vehicle too, may be a water tanker or something might justify the extent of damage.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Front of the car will always be mangled more compared to the car that gets hit at the rear. It happens irrespective of the car that rear ends into another.

The road is in good condition from Hosur main road till Huskur, from Huskur you pass through Chintala Madivala, Kaggalipura, pass by Belezia on the right and reach Muthanallur circle. This stretch is about 4 km and manageable on a 2 wheeler, from Muthanallur circle the road is again very good till you reach your destination.

It's fine on a 2 wheeler. You won't face ay issue. However avoid during late evenings/night. It's not the safest route to be driving/riding on.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Any update on the road laying exercise behind Graphite India?

I haven't gone to office this week, so was thinking if I can take the Alpine Apartment Road or Chinnappanahalli Main Road.

Regards

Since Monday I have noticed that going via Nallurahalli seems to be the better option. Of course once you cross the GE Tech centre , there is road work going on with trcuks and bulldozers lying around.
There is enough space for a SUV to take a deviation around the construction and join the Nallurahalli main road again.
I guess during peak hours, even this stretch can be a pain to cross

I took the Hoodi-ATM junction-Graphite Road-ABB/Bhoruka junction-Decathlon-KR Puram route last evening and there was absolutely no sign of any asphalting work on the ATM junction-ABB junction stretch of the Graphite Road
I'm not sure if my colleague had seen work on the the other side of Graphite Road towards EPIP side ?
