In 2014, we all residents of Sai Poorna, ND Oliva and few more appartments & houses around that area had signed & submitted a petition to BBMP regarding this. Don't know what happened to it. I moved out of that area mid of last year.

On Monday I noticed that except for the ramp rest of the road had been relaid FRESH.
Now all that we can hope for is BWSSB/BESCOM should not start digging the road for laying pipe / cable.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Bengaluru Traffic Police !

You made sure to stop 2 Buses filled with Sleeping employees belonging to an IT Company in Electronics City for entering a road that is barred for LCVs and HCVs ever since the road from Madiwala Check-post to Madiwala Police Station was made one way.

I am glad you flagged down, ensured that the drivers actually got down (There were no drivers on their seats in both these buses) and I am more than sure that you would have fined these chaps as per law.

Here's the snapshot of the flex sign clearly indicating no Entry for these Buses (Captured few weeks before):

Notice the cops and the Parked Bus:

2 of these buses defied the and ideally they were supposed to reach this point where you the 3rd bus ahead approaching this junction through the Market which is the designated route for them. Incidentally, that bus also belongs to the same company:

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

On Monday evening (this week) I saw road work (seemed like just patch up work) in progress on Graphite Road on the right most lanes between Sipani and ESI/ABB junction.
Yesterday, there was very slow moving traffic near Zuri and I guessed that may be due to the work on the Graphite road, not wanting to take a chance I took the Devasandra road back.
Any idea of the progress on Graphite Road ?

Now the biggest question is, how long will these last Hopefully now it is a smooth ride without any bottlenecks at crossings.

Are the roads going via the railway track also tarred?

That's just one part of it. The more important question is how many new speedbreakers will spring up on this new stretch, now that all Indicabs as well as other road users will use this stretch to set new speed records.

So what happens is, if the BTM Exit at Silk Board is not given more time, a radius of 6-8 kms gets clogged.

Comparing this with the traffic coming from Hosur road side or HSR side, has more length of wide road and not much residential area.
...
This is probably the reason to have almost 1:5 ratio timings at the KR Puram/Mahadevapura-ORR junction towards Hebbal as well.

Yes, the traffic police are ensuring that traffic is held up where it can be without causing much trouble(except for the people stuck there). If they dont hold up some traffic here, then the narrower junction gets clogged. That is the case in both ends of the signal free ORR, ie Silk board and KR Pura. Since the ITPL main road is narrower, if ORR is given priority, the traffic buildup will reach Phoenix MC which will clog some of the U Turns and cross roads there. Same thing for Silk Board. They ensure that the build up does not reach HSR signal most of the times.

This is good news. Its too bad that I won't be using the road when it is in brand new condition. I will be a regular two weeks from now. Lets see how well the road survives the wear and tear of the traffic that passes through.
I used to pity the residents of the various apartments on this road and the perennial dust in the air creating a serious health risk. Now maybe those folk will be also relieved.

Folks:

The stretch from Vydehi Hospital to ITPL back Gate is being relaid fresh. When i passed this stretch by 6 20 AM, work was in progress.
I expect traffic jam as the day progresses. So users WATCH OUT

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Why are they tarring the roads in a hurry? Looks like they just moved the soil on either side and tarred the road. Now the road looks like a canal in some places and not sure what will happen if it rains with no drains :(

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

This morning I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have tarred the road leading from Marathalli to Doddanekundi. To be precise they've done about half the length of it but the road laying equipment is lying around so presumably they will do the other half soon.

These people need to made to pay for this. It took 2 years for BBMP to tar this road and not even a single night to dig it up. This can only happen in Bangalore Anywhere else, these people would have been taught a lesson. The Police will always side with the builder. He has the moolah.

The absolute lack of consciousness is appalling. I don't use this road anymore from about 6 months but feel really sorry for people living on this stretch.
