HSR outer limits, accurately one can say the Sarjapur Road outlining Koramangala 1st Block.

I'm not too aware of HSR or Bellandur but the situation should remain normal today, tomorrow is a "speculated" B-Day.. any confirmation on this by BHPians so that I can do my work in accordance today? Any jams reported today?

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Got off a call with our office management sometime back. BAU was reported in most areas. Even last evening our company cabs were picking up employees in the curfew areas. Today's declared normal - however, those who can Work from home have been advised to do that - to minimize impact incase we have to evacuate people later in the day or if we have to keep them in the office for long periods.
I saw one motorcycle with two policemen at the end of 19th Main yesterday evening. This morning, from what I have seen of 19th Main and 27th Main, it looks business as usual. Cambridge Public School, HSR Extension (near Purva Fairmount/behind Indian Oil Petrol Bunk) has declared holiday today, however.
Colleagues are also reporting normal in most of the areas.
Thankfully, sense has returned to this beautiful city. Like the CM said, we are indeed emotional when it comes to land, water etc. But violence is not the solution. (Opps - little OT, sorry)

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Is tomorrow's (15/9) state-wide railway bandh happening? Plus there are more rumours of another total bandh on 16/9, Friday.

KA is now approaching KL / WB levels of productivity losses!

Sparse traffic on my way to office today. Took me 30 mins to reach office today and that too in a car!

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Drive to office was peaceful today. No incidents anywhere on the road from Vidyaranyapura to MG Road. The canteen vendor has also turned up in our office today. So, I guess, situation slowly returning to normal.

Curfew continues to be imposed in the 16 police station limits. Have tweeted Bangalore City Police enquiring when it might be lifted. No response so far.

Drove from HAL Main Gate to Embassy Tech Village via Marathahalli, started at 10.45 am and reached office at 11.05 am. Less traffic on roads hence peaceful drive. Did not see any significant police presence on my route.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Had to see a friend today morning near Jigani. Took the Brigade road, Audugodi, Silk Board and EC Expressway. Traffic was light and situation was normal throughout. Saw 3 TN cars (white board) plying in the route too.

It is risky to take out TN registered vehicles till Sep 20th. In another 2 weeks from now, things should come back to normalcy.

As per police commissioner, there will be no bandh in the coming days.

Heavy police/RAF presence along Mysore Road corridor. Traffic lesser than usual, but things seem to be limping back to normal.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

I had a pleasant walk to Dell, Whitefield around 11 am to get my car back. The 3.5 km walk took me around 40 minutes. I saw almost normal traffic with several BMTC buses running on that route.

So it looks like things are getting back to normal. However I'm not sure how things will be over the next few days. Hope things do not lead to unrest again.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Tomorrow there's a proposed 12 hr rail roko bandh, and the railway police have said that there will be adequate protection, and rail traffic will be normal.
Seems like a recipe for disaster.

Is sec. 144 still in force? I heard the curfew and 144 is already withdrawn.

Think its only the curfew that's withdrawn, 144 stays.
