Through the crankcase breather hole, water can enter. That being the case whichever of the 3 transmissions is more sophisticated will take the bigger hit. IMO AT /AMT could be hit more compared to MT.
Experts your thoughts plz....

Saw on NDTV news, following lines in that order

71 lives lost due to heavy rain
CM: Losses are inevitable when it rains heavily

I just hoped she was saying that about property loss :(

Pardon my ignorance, won't the crankcase be similar between same model of MT and AMT. In AMT I thought the magic happens elsewhere and not in gearbox. AT I can understand.

Which politician has ever worried about loss of human life. After mumbai terror attack, the then CM Vilasrao deshmukh said loss of life is common in the case of terrorist attack.
Why, our own CM (siddu) said after being questioned as to why there are so many rape cases in bangalore, for which he asked the reporter "Don't you have any other thing to talk apart from only Rape"???
Whatever CM of TN said is nothing new when you take a leaf out of the politician's book. Ultimately the victim/families of the victim have to bear the SUFFERING TORCH for the rest of their lives.

Any idea about the real weather forecast for tomorrow. News channels are quite biased depending on their political affiliation. Sun TV is all doom and gloom and Jaya TV is optimistic! Difficult to choose which pictures on social media to believe.
My dad will need to travel from the airport to annanagar tomorrow. Hope it will be uneventful.
Also my mom will need to travel from Vellore to annanagar. Hope that it is uneventful too!

Hope the situation will get normalized soon. I have to be in Bangalore on 18th and hence planning to leave tomorrow evening. Usually, I used to take Tambaram - Mudichur - Sriparambatur road for entering NH 4. Any idea on the condition of this particular stretch. Is it safe now? Or should I take a detour towards Guindy - Porur and then join NH 4. An advice would be much appreciated.

That's a bogus video that's been doing the rounds for quite sometime now. It's not even in India. Pause the video and notice the car and a pick up behind it. Could be S. America or Philippines. There's another Chinese video titled as "shot in Chennai-Tiruvallur" highway with a truck toppling into the flood. Don't understand why people resort to such gimmicks to get some views.

Perfect lane discipline on GST Road from Kathipara to Meenambakkam today

How's that possible?

Chennai cops have placed make shift drums with ropes/plastic wires tied to them in all the 3 lanes so that small vehicles don't enter the lane that's filled with water!

So, no circus stunts!

That snap should have been on or before sunday. Otherwise the road has been reasonably clear from Sunday late night. I took the road all the way from tidel park, and only found 3 -4 places having heavy water logging.

Today took the ECR - Sholinganallur route.

re: Traffic and life on the roads in Chennai

Any record breaking travel time yesterday evening? Heard few friends took 6 hours to reach home from office instead of normal 1/1.5 hour. Mine thankfully was just 2.5 hours compared to the usual 1 hour.
