we dont know if it was the Zxi for sure ..hence it may not have air bags ...
either ways i hope they was nobody in the Rear Seats ..because the whiplash would have been severe ...

@sridhar n artofzen,

It was coming from Tellichery to Trichur and the accident took place in the NH between Palghat and Trichur. It is an inclined section of the road, and the driver lost control while avoiding a pothole. It ended 30 feet below, but in four wheels.
That much of info is available from the local dailies.

Now the simple doubt is - a flying car will always nosedive, right? Or the swift has an ulta-pulta design?

the door handles are not body coloured hence its not a Zxi ..NO AIRBAGS !!

on two wheels, the 2 wheels in front are still in the air ..

so, the car ran off an overpass and fell 30 feet neeche ..it certainly should have nose dived ..or maybe it was on a nose dive till it struck the tree trunk. Maybe thats what saved the driver from certain death ..because Swift aint well built enough to withstand a 30 feet head first plunge into the concrete .

Off the rest of the Maruti stable, Swift is the best built and the safest in the Euro safety rating. The interior being built to price has nothing to do with how strong the body is. The car is heavier than Baleno and can put many of the cars in other segments to shame with the security features it offers at the price.

how can you be confident that the driver would have survived a 30feet nose first crash ? that too without airbags..
the tree braked the fall or else it would have had been a disaster.
