hey Rtech, which car is that in the pic? And how come it had kmph readings on the speedo rather than mph? I am guessing this pic is from your time in North America.

As for the speed vs not-speed issue, even the greater noida expressway has claimed its fair share of lives. So be extra cautious even at not so high speeds. Otherwise we could be reading reports similar to Ntomer's.

That was a Nissan Sentra. Looked lexactly like this, same colour as well.

And this was in Canada. Didn't have a car in the US, only my bike.

@aseem.... I appreciate your concern but the expressway is as good as any expressway abroad, its not like the 'typical indian roads' Each one of us gets carried away with the thrill at times, I touched 180 and as soon as i did i dropped back to 120 or so crusing speed. Quite honestly, no offence but this section of the forum wont be an enjoyable read for you

@ Revvhead.... Its suprising but the car felt rock solid at that speed! it had a firm grip on the road and the lane changes didnt seem unsafe at all....I didnt try too many stunts with the steering at that speed obv but i did change the lane a couple of times i guess. It did take me a lot of pushing to get to that speed, my right foot was embedded into the accelerator for a few minutes...touching 140 is a breeze...its only after 160 that the car takes a while to reach 170 or so and sits at it until you get a downhill which touchs the needle down.

Speedo, apart from getting an increase in speed, did you experience an increase in torque? How does the car feel at low to mid rpm band? did the acceleration and drivability of the car increase, or did you just feel improved top end?

That road is. Hardly used, bounded by railings. Except for an occaisional tractor coming in the fast lane with lights off.

i touched 160kph mark with my marina LS i took a lot of time after crossing 140kph on Jaipur-ajmer expressway and i must tell you that the speedo was still willing to go ahead a few mm but it was the smell of burning rubber that made me slow down .well i think i was crazy at that time

Hey dudes, I touched 170 kmph (speedo) on my stock Swift with alloys and 195 Bridgestone tyres. This was after I raced with a Sienna on mumbai -pune expressway. he kept looking at me fly past. It was awesome and all kept wondering how a small car like Swift was attaining this magical 170 speed. Am sure on the right stretch (there is one on the expressway which is kind a a slope) the swift can touch 180 kmph if someone has the *****. Hey isnt it about time someone starts a thread about 0 -100 for all stock indian cars ? I really need to see this.
