Hey, what do you mean? Hiked today 16th Jul, or the hike made a month ago?

Seen it in todays Hindu paper that Rs5 is increased.

It was quoting about the rise which was done a couple of days before.

Cars - One way - 35/- (Day pass 50/-)
2 Wheelers - One way - 15/- (Day pass 20/-)

As mentioned earlier, the validity of the return/multiple trips pass is only till 23:59 Hours of the date on which it was purchased!

Other view point is that travel to Hosur and further (Chennai, Salem etc) has become a breeze now with this.

Long distance vehicles do not have to jostle for space with local traffic. NH7, being such an important corridor needed this, IMO.

Not only this one but all toll rates in NHAI has increased from 12th. Just back from Goa via NH4 and seen they have re-painted the toll rates in charts, now Bangalore to Tumkur is 26/-, increased by 2/-.

I did travel via this Bangalore Tumkur NH4 Toll on Jul 5th, and had paid toll of 26/-. So can confirm this change was not done on Jul 12th onwards.

Bus abandoned on Elevated Expressway

One bus had a break down on the Elevated Expressway yesterday. Even after 24 hours, the bus has not been moved. The bus has been abandoned and there are no hazard signs to warn the other drivers.

Also, this morning there was a moron who had parked his ANHC near to this abandoned bus and was chatting merrily with a biker.

I almost had an accident today because of these morons. There was a bus in front of me so I could not see this abandoned bus in front. When I tried to overtake this bus, I saw the parked ANHC and aborted the overtaking. Then the bus in front of me somehow managed to squeeze between the abandoned bus in the right lane and the parked ANHC in the left lane. I also reduced speed and followed the bus.

I was driving safe and indicating properly, but there was a lady in an i20 behind me, who was driving like a maniac (I was observing the i20 in my IRVM and could make out that it was being driven rashly). When I reduced speed to pass between the abandoned bus and parked ANHC, she came to a screeching halt behind me and almost rear ended me.

The worst part is that even after this near miss, she continued to drive rashly.

Always safer to give way to such people.

Autos are banned but earthy moving machinery are allowed as per the chart. What is the logic here? (Another board says slow moving vehicles are not allowed in tollway!!)

i'm wondering how they're going to get those big earth movers through the toll gate. what if it doesn't fit in? how is it going to go around/get back? drive in the opposite direction?

Does BETL fall under RTI act? I am really interested to know what was the spend and how they would like to recover the cost, I am sure in 1st phase, they have not planned the toll rates, so after 6 month they have revised it, and to the wrong direction they increased it, so the number of users will go down and we may see another rate change by December, some one please tell them, to get volumes they should get the rates down. I don't know who has mater minded this plan, hope not someone from a Software company(no hard feelings for anyone).
