Is it true , we shouldn't drive new car above 60KMPH upto 1000KM for better mileage in future?

Thanks

I think that the car's manual has the details for the running in period. Even highly polished surface will have some irregularities, so initially when engine is new, it causes more friction. After the initial 1000 kms or so, the parts bed in ( so running in is also called as bedding in ), so one can safely drive at higher speeds.

The limit is rpm rather than speed.

With newer technology, the running in period is lowered.

Which car are you referring to? The Alto's manual mentions a top speed of 100 KMPH for the first 1000 KM, so I kept it between 60 - 80 to be on the safe side.
