Not the best of options, driving without ORVMs. People many decades ago were used to driving without these mirrors, but that's only because it wasn't standard equipment and the traffic wasn't so bad that you'd need the assistance of mirrors to switch between lanes.
But not now! I wouldn't be driving (as far as possible) on Indian roads with those ORVMs. Its one of the best ways to make sure you don't have a moron trying to crawl into your lane, or at best it'll come in handy to spot the crazy biker trying to squeeze and scratch your car.

Pump up the volume so you can't hear the world shouting at you and drive in the sanest manner you feel possible.
It's not only the case with even the first planned city in India too. I've to date lost my left OVRM, thrice to autorickshaws and over enthusiastic kids on there activas. Take a peace brake, curse a little in a low tone and move on. .
