anyway given a very long straight, a Vtec will eaasily catch a stock RD or even the average modified RD..

and yeah on the curves..no way the RD can take curves at that speeds

sorry shantanu.. dont kill me for this.. but i personally dont like Honda cars coz of flimsy build as in u dont have that heavy feel of european or american cars (pardon me my exp is limited to couple of mercs n opels) n neutral handling (i term it easy to handle).. though love Honda's engines..

me n Tom usually end up at fist fight when i start this.. lol.. peace Tommy

i've personally seen my Vtec hit 195 kmph. When OD tested the Vtec, even that car managed 195kmph on the speedo while the true speed recorded by the GPS equipment was 185kmph at that point.

so i guess given a clean stretch the stock RD's will be eventually overtaken.. moded RD not in a position to dispute anything coz in India at least we dont have anything recorded officially.. apart from terminal speeds at the Drags..

Powerful engine on a light chassis. That's how i like to play.

Yeah i agree that most jap cars have a flimsy build and constantly keep updating you with the increase in speed.

Jap cars are bought for one reason....and one reason only......"Revvs, more revvs and even more revvs".

Take a Vtec to 7100 rpm and you'll forget the build quality or the lightness of the car.

Regards..

[quote=GTO]What will be more interesting to see is the dash from 0-100...thats where the bikes with their puny engines will majorly lose out.

Comparing a HUGE 1500cc car to a 180cc and 223cc bikes ain't fair guys. Wanna talk power try out running a PUNY 500cc Ninja, which make about 52hp, almost half the power the Vtech makes. It'll out run the Vtec in every one of the six gears. Now that is power. Now I'm comparing a 500cc bike. Step up an additional 100cc and even a Merc E class will find it hard to even catch up with that bike.
No offense guys but, think of it after 20YEARS we are now seeing a so called giant leap in technology and engine capacities for bikes. This is where we stand. Its pathetic, so why make fun on our own bikes.

Ummm... more like power to weight ratio. the ninja 500 weighs about 175 Kgs whereas the Vtec weighs around 980 i think.

I was talking in the Indian context. Now your puny 500cc Ninja isnt yet available in Indian showrooms, is it?
