Indefinite bus strike from Monday

Quote:
Kochi: Private bus operators will undertake an indefinite strike from Monday onwards to protest against inspection of buses for speed governors.

In the wake of the accident in Malappuram district which claimed 14 lives, the Kerala State Motor Vehicles Department has decided to cancel 'fitness' certificates of buses operating without speed governors.

Thanks for the info

IMO, I think it is the correct thing what Rishiraj Singh have done. The bus owners should be ashamed of themselves for calling a strike against it.

I hope I am wrong, but if past experience is anything to go by, the public will fidget, the government is going to buckle, the speed governors will stay disconnected, and Grim Reapers will continue striking the double bell.

Re: Horrible private bus drivers in Kerala roads

Thrissur - Kozhikode express bus is the worst of the lot.

They come head on and expect the opposite vehicle to back off. Its ok on a broad stretch, but they take some really blind turns on the Kozhikode bye-pass road. Got to be really carefully.

Then the next has to be Thrissur- Kodungallur. This route is fairly narrow especially before Irinjalakuda and the bus comes charging towards you like a raging bull. I didn't back off once and held my ground. The bus was forced to brake. I was greeted by the choicest of abuses.
