wakad bridge is closed!!!! It took me one hour to reach there only to find that traffic is being diverted. I started at 1930 hrs and reached kothrud at 2100 hrs!!! Pathetic!
Was the flyover closed? I crossed it around 8 pm and it was fine. Took 1h45 to reach home though. Updated on the rains thread.
I crossed the flyover around 9.30 pm or thereabouts and it was open then. Traffic was bad then , but I guess not as bad as it was from 6pm to 9 pm.
Set a personal record of reaching home that day. NO, not the fastest time, rather the slowest time!
Left office at 6:15PM and reached home at 9:00PM! I could have reched Mumbai sooner than reaching Kothrud. Man, this sucks!

:Shockked: , great record must say .
On the other hand somehow I had to leave at 2:00 PM that day and managed to reach Kalyani Nagar in exactly 20 mins :thumbs up , a fastest record at my end . At least 1 day less of traffic jam .

I guess it was because of the jam ahead, because the other side was open as usual. And as I see noopster and sajo were able to access just respectively before and after the time I drove through. So I am assuming it was more of a traffic diversion.

No wonder you were silent on this thread :D.
20mins is a great time to reach K'nagar, considering the traffic you would encounter at Nashik phata or Holkar bridge.

This image was taken at 7 AM. So I guess we will have heavy rains by evening today too. Plan to leave early today. If there are no calls or meetings in the evening that is.

Day time traffic @ Holkar bridge is almost ZERO :) . Wish I could reach home in the day itself everyday :D

Hmmm .. I have to stay as late as 9:30 PM , Hope the traffic (if jam) , gets easy by then , in case it rains in the evening.

The picture taken by Ms.Kalpana-1 predicts medium/heavy rains today too.
One thing I have observed is that, since the rains started, our company's internal car parking has started filling up really fast. We manage to fill up the parking inside by 10 AM, a vacant ground opposite the gates by 11, and a few hundred meters of road alongside by 1pm.
First time thats happening in more than 4 years of my experience here.
My point is : Car numbers are literally exploding these days. With minimal or no changes to the HJW infrastructure to accommodate them.
Received the following information from my office.
'Hinjewadi First’ starts off on 10th June 2011 with a peaceful gathering at Hinjewadi. We appeal to you to step out of your campuses on the streetsat 5 pm and hold placards to voice our demands. The movement will be followed by an address by the key members of HIA and the unveiling of the ‘Hinjewadi First’ logo on I2IT premises.
Anyone planning to join this? I am thinking of going there.

You bet! I add up to those numbers too. But what bothers me is the huge buildings of TCS and my company that are coming up at an amazing pace. Even by pessimistic estimates they would add at least 20-25K more IT guys to the current crowd! And it is these tight moments that an atheist likes me suffer, we have got no one to pray to :d

But will this help. SHouldn't they have done this a few years ago ? Also it being held conviniently on a Friday so that after that the Mumbai bound commuters can go home :D and the others by 6 pm buses as usual.

With all due respects, is it just me or is there someone else too that we have gone a tad bit too far with these "peaceful gatherings"? But this sounds promising! How about a placard on your rear wind shield reading " I want wider roads"!
