m5

a very envious excursion there. sure you had an awesome time on the roads. just a couple of questions -
how does the car perform over long distances? is it comfortable enough or does it induce fatigue over long distances.
also, how does it perform in bumper-to-bumper traffic?

Thanks for the comments guys. The event has been held every year for the past 31 years and is a navigational (not speed) challenge; the team that reaches from A to B in the shortest distance wins! We were not speeding (much) and never really took it over 150km/h. The cops got me at 146kmh in a 110 kmh zone. The great thing about the car is that it's such a great all rounder - 200mph sportscar one minute, daily driver the next (very comfortable) and you can fit the in-laws in it with their luggage (although I'm not sure that's necessarily a good thing!).

The route is from Brands Hatch circuit in the UK to Calais (on the tunnel) then down to St. Omer, Paris, Autun and Macon.

I visit India quite a bit and around the cities the roads are pretty poor. But get out in the countryside and you have some very beautiful routes. It just takes some organising but I'm sure that there would be a demand for this type of event.

Here are a few more pictures of the event:

http://www.gosh.org/events/driving_c...o_gallery.html

As well as having a blast, I raised over £2000 (almost Rs. 2 lakhs) this year for charity:

Maybe the members of Team-bhp could choose a worthy charity in India and arrange a similar rally....
