But, is it a genuine case for insurance ? Why will the insurance company pay if the driver was drunk ?

People who drink and drive have no sympathy in my eyes; there can be no excuse for such behaviour. People who drink and drive endanger the lives of other innocent motorists who are obeying traffic laws and driving safely. Even if there is an emergency and one is under the influence, there are plently of alternatives available to all those who can afford owning a vehicle these days (Call Taxis etc).

People who drink and drive should be arrested and their DL should be cancelled.

Do you really think this will deter them from driving again?
The guy was really lucky to get away from something like this. The bigger the car, safer it will be in a crash. Guys, buy SUVs.

whoa man.... was that an endeavour???

took me a whole 20 to 30 seconds of staring at the picture to figure out what vehicle it was.... looked like the ikon initially.....

that was one bad crash.... i hope now that guy has some sense hammered into his skull.... Thank God he didn't kill or maime anyone....

Must be a big fan of Salman Khan eh?

guys DO NOT drive while you are intoxicated in whatever form.... Hope you all have seen a similar episode on Oprah about a victim of drunk driving... the victim's pic's were circulated on email extensively..... Think.... you could snuff out someone's life and dreams in one stupid move.... Be responsible...

Nice to hear that the guys in the car are safe... hail SUV's on indian roads.
Its also high time for India to have stringent laws on road security.

Any sensible person would never do that.

I don't understand - what's the fun behind the wheels after a drink. These guys create danger to themselves as well as the innocent people on the road.

Satya, Ur friend definitely is one hell of a lucky guy. Luckily for everyone involved it was the Endeavoour and not any of the regular sedans coz then I wud hate to even think what cud have happened. Also cud u tell me as to how this happened coz its kinda strange and I'm prety sure this is the Jaipur highway or some other highway in Rajasthan.

Lets get a detialed account of the mishap .... I hope ur friend now realises the folly of drinking and driving !!!!

cheers

Government should do something like this

http://www.oregonlive.com/metronorth...460.xml&coll=7

but people who drink and drive are really stupid
i go to clubbin so many times if i feel even 10% i cannot drive i tell my friend to drive the car. Its not about the accident but few people sitting in your car their life is all at your hand so i think its always better to be safe you know...

slightly OT but useful
http://www.hindu.com/mag/2005/11/20/...2000300400.htm
mebbe this needs a section of its own. The part about too many people constantly bombarded with messages about more horses, top speed, 0-100 times etc is true. The message about defensive driving, right of way and staying well within your limits is completely missing. So this is not surprisin at all. The best way might be to *shame* hollow brinkmanship on public roads. Too many people often make 'the race with the car ahead' their primary concern when on the road. The journey has so many other thrills and sights to it and those go completely unexplored.
I really think we need lesser cars, not more...unless we improve
