Pictures of an Audi A5

On my way to Mulund on the eastern express highway today around 3:00 I saw a nice sports car about 3 car lengths ahead of me. What instantaneously attracted my attention was the fact that there were absolutely no badges on the car coupled with a red number plate. I tried chasing the car but it was too fast, however I got a chance when the traffic slowed down near Kanjurmarg. Got behind the car & clicked a clear snap of the car. The driver saw me taking the picture & was super irritated, even started waving that I should not click any pics. He then sped away like crazy & since I had to go towards Mulund I dived below the bridge. Oh yes it was a 2 door coupe...

Here are 2 pics of the car - One from a little distance & 1 absolutely from behind. Guys any idea which model of Audi this is?

That's an Audi A5, and likely one of the smaller engine variants. I love how the driver feels he possesses the right to refrain you from taking photos of a car on a totally public piece of land.

The A5 has been on test in Mumbai since a couple of months now. There are pictures on other forums too. Also check out: Supercars and Exotics in Mumbai | Facebook

What makes you say that? Its most probably a 3.2, going by the twin exhausts. If its was a 2l then it wouldn't have had exhausts on both sides.

To be honest, my initial thought right off the bat was that it's a 2.7 TDI or a 3.0 TDI, which I consider the smaller variants, but I'm unsure whether they are available in the Indian market and hence it has been debadged by Audi on a testing basis.

However, as you mentioned, it could very well be the V6 FSI. I guess I was a bit more biased because ever since my friend drove the RS5 in Bombay last month, I've been under the fixated impression that any engine other than that monstrous 4.2 V8 engine from the RS4 (B7), is, well, small

Re: Pictures of an Audi A5

There is a new Audi coming in July - wonder if this is the car that is going to be launched? Going by the extensive testing that the car was under going I will not be surprised if it does.

Some of the A5's that come with the 2.0 T have dual tips, 1 on each side.

Some as in Europe it comes only on one side but twin tips, and in the US it comes both twin tips and dual. The dual you get i think only on the S-Line kit.
