Spotted this latest model A8L W12 in peddar road yesterday. Just managed one shot as it was raining heavily.

There are a good number of previous gen A8 W12s in Mumbai. Good to see the all new A8 sporting the incredibly powerful engine! Just look at those huge exhausts!

But I wonder sometimes that for someone just sitting in the rear seat, why would he go for a W12! Even a 3.2 should suffice for the chauffeur-driven

Overdrive had featured the W12 on their show last week, i think this might be the same demo car. What would be the cost of this ? upwards of 2cr ?

But the guys who buy these big engined cars do probably drive often enough. And the answer to your question is to look around, and see how many 3.0tdi's you spot compared to the V8s.

I think 1.5cr would be more like it. Even the 760li is about the same I guess.

^The Ex showroom cost is around 1.12 crores. I don't think so it would cost 1.5 even.

That is audi india's car and the md of audi india uses it sometimes. The first A8 in the D4 body style in india was for Mr. Nagraj Shetty. He custom ordered the car W12 with the Audi Exclusive color of ipanema brown (which is the color of that "copper R8 in the mumbai showroom"). His car was 1.79 on road mumbai the basic exshowroom of the w12 is 1.26.

Akshay the reason one would go for the w12 is
1.he drives himself like Mr. Nagraj
2.the rarity
3.the status which seperates you from an already premium class of sedan.

Ah! Every time I see this, reminds me of the black W12 A8L used in the Transporter 2

Can the reclining angle of the rear seats be adjusted as, it seems to be way way beyond the comfort zone?

PPS: What were the last few digits of the regn numb?
Those seems like the best EU plates I have seen locally here. Quite like the frame on it too, minus any dealer branding. I want !

Know of someone that tried to participate with a W12 in the SCC but was rejected as it did not fit the criteria. Perhaps thats why this car is in the parking lot.

Order a set of Germanplates.com . The only issue is for the proper Euro plate 9 digits is the limit, so instead of MH01, you will have to write MH1. 10 digit lookalikes are also possible but then they don't really look that good. The frame is available there too.

Surprising the A8 was rejected considering the Bentleys were in.

Please do see the plates on my Audi..they have all 10 digits and the plates were ordered from the same source.

The Bentley's carry more oomph value than an A8 does..next one will say a S600 or a 760li should also be there.

I know you ordered your plates from there, and I would prefer the 9 digit plate because of the different or larger font.

Well then what are Z4s doing in the show? Of course if they are allowing cars which are only 300 odd bhp then why not let it a 760li or an S600?
