I cant wait to go to Punjab and get familiar with the car in real earnest!

Thank you so much for your warm words and wishes driveanddrive. As of now the GT has been put under the cover and parked up for a bit. We are planning a trip to Rajasthan for the explicit purpose of stretching its legs. It will make for some interesting pics and videos!!

I am extremely thankful to you for sharing your buying experience with us, it felt as though we all have come with you to purchase this elegant beast. But alas, I am more than disappointed when I see my garage and don't see the GT there :-( This feeling is thanks to your narration.
Kudos to TBhp, for giving us this platform where we can have knowledge of a TVS Scooty to Bentley GT. |
Thanks so much xtremeshock! I'm glad you liked the pics and write up also.
I promise too keep this thread updated with lots of pics of the Bentley in action regularly.

Congrats and Happy miles with it. And it would be really nice if you can make a video of its interiors, startup(engine roar) with some accelerations and finally video of it in the night(interior and exterior). I hope I am not asking too much!! |
There are some videos on youtube of other Bentley GT's doing the same, but are not of very good quality. I shall try to make some better ones and share them here.

I love English cars especially the Bentleys and Aston Martins. A real class apart.
Wish you and your folks many many years of safe and happy journeys.
Cheers! |
Thanks for the wishes my Italiano friend!
There is something about Cars which originated in Britain. They may not have the best engineering and are known to be..errr...temperamental but they have the best interiors i have ever seen.
The design and materials are brilliant but what really sets them apart is the execution. When the Range Rover joined our family in 08 i thought it had the best interiors till i saw the insides of a Bentley.
RR has sadly lost some of that design panache in the interiors since their adoption by BMW.
In that respect VW has done well not to give the interiors of the Bentleys a Teutonic flavour and have allowed the "British Gentlemans Club" theme to prosper under their reign.

I had to pick my jaws up from the ground when i saw the Brooklands buddy.
Even though it was the GT that i was asked to scrutinize originally once i had seen the Brooklands i forgot all about it. As you may have noticed there are a lot more pics of the elegant Brooklands than the GT even.
It was the driving experience that was the first blow, but as its not suited to my brothers driving and more to my sedate stlye i was ready to let that pass.
You are not supposed to throw a Brooklands about like some crazed Latino doing the Salsa or a Rumba on his second date. Its more suited to a gentle Waltz in the Autumn Ball.
The GT of course can do both very well including its own spicy version of Dirty Dancing when the massage seats are set on "ecstasy" mode. ;-)
The Alpine stereo with its reluctance to return CD's was the deal breaker.

I have a few questions in mind -
1) Will the dealer be able to change the dash board trim as precisely as the factory ?
2) What model is the RR phantom coupe and how many kms has it done ?
3) What was the asking price for the RR coupe?
Thanks,
Aditya |
Thanks for your wishes Aditya!
To your first Q i will say.. yes!
The dealer has staff trained in England and regularly carry out repairs on these cars for very discerning clientele who would be acutely disconcerted if the job was of an unsatisfactory nature and therefore would voice their chagrin in no small measure.
In simple english..the clients who pay so handsomely also punish with equal generosity.
To your second and Q number three, I must confess I shall be unable to render any accurate counsel as so mortified was i, by the insides of the RR Coupe, that i gave it no further examination or scrutiny.

I'm pretty sure you're the envy of your neighborhood!
Hopefully some of us can experience that euphoria one like you must feel when staring at that Bentley in your driveway . Nothing really certifies your "I made it in life" status like a Bentley or a Rolls sitting in the driveway. |
Sitting in the driveway is correct sir, as that's where these beauties spend a generous portion of their lives. Not due to rising costs of crude but to the falling standards of our roads and general traffic manners.
Thanks for your wishes D33-PAC!

I have asked the gentleman who own that establishment called "Pimp my Ride" to contact me forthwith. I think a nice Candy Orange with some Green pinstriping is in order.
Hahaha!! Thanks for the wishes DD! :-)
