What is a S500 L AMG? The S500 was discontinued in India last year, plus there's nothing called a S500 L AMG. It is either a S500 with an AMG kit or a S63 AMG.

I thought the AMG (Kit) was understood here. I am very well aware of there being nothing called as that.

I think he has got away without paying the tax as there has been no reports of this after. The RTO is running a big PR campaign to try and get publicity by catching prominent people and mentioning the high value of tax they recovered from them. As was done in the case of villain Danny's RR Sport but in Bhushan Kumar's Maybach case there has been no follow up article of how much tax he paid. Hence I have a strong hunch he has figured another way out. There is a high court order that permits cars with out of state regn to be used in another state for 12 months hence he could have found a legal loophole in his favour too.

Usually this RTO crack down on out of state cars happens just in Feb-March to rake in the moolah before they close their books on 31st March. However, this year it seems that it is continuing even in April apparently since there is a RTO commissioner who is being transferred out soon and wants to rake in big revenues before he exits.

I hope RTO road tax came under GST regulations of some sort but its highly unlikely. This disparity in RTO tax needs to end, one state like PY has RTO tax of 25k flat irrespective of price of the car while MH and KA have over 20% for CBU's. Hope the govt comes up with one flat tax as in most countries, use your car freely wherever you like.

I don't think he was given the car, because it came on sale within a month or so and now it belongs to someone else in Mumbai. Same goes for Virat Kohli's Audi R8 LMX. He never took delivery and the car was on sale low-key in Delhi since then unregistered. Just a marketing stint by Audi to basically fool the uninformed.
