Why would Jeep India mislead the world then? They clearly mentioned in the press statement that Saif has purchased this car.

The Grand Cherokee is definitely owned by the Actor as you can see from the pictures in the following link that like his other cars this one is also has '1970' which is his birth year.

Also curious to know if there is any leasing option on these cars in India where they can just lease these high end cars for few years.

As per Vahan, the Owner 1 of the Jeep SRT is FCA India Automobiles Pvt Ltd. So definitely this is either leased out to Saif as Sahil mentioned OR Saif has bought a dealer vehicle and its pending transfer.

Fortunately or unfortunately, lots of people (mostly less informed) are interested in knowing if any celebrities are using the premium car they are considering to buy for themselves. They might be getting some high from it, may be. This could possibly be the only reason why manufacturers go to any extent to please the celebs and give them extraordinary deals.

Completely agreed. Celebrities do influence one's choice of product. I myself bought a watch only because Schumacher was its brand ambassador (big fan of Michael).

Given how he is posing in front of the car, that too in the Maserati dealership, chances are high that this is a loaner vehicle in lieu of some publicity. else why would a celeb, who has bought the car, give free publicity in this manner?

Dont be surprised if we see the said maserati in one of his upcoming high adrenaline flicks.

True, Keep in Mind his Best Friend Ajay Devgan was the first buyer of Maserati Quattroporte sold in India. So he could have helped setup a mutually beneficial deal for Shetty & Maserati.
