A wrong choice of color can simply ruin the beauty of a car. And in this case, a gorgeous R8 has been made ugly by color red and the bad choice of wheels! If he'd have chosen to go for CF side panels, then probably it'd have looked a tad better.
Red is such a color that it looks fantastic on some(Ferrari) while horrendous on others(Lamborghini).

From the pictures that R8 does not even look like a proper red ( like ones you find on ferrari) but orangish. That those wheels are hideous.

I agree, R8 looks great in white

Y'all missed to mention one color that makes the car look mesmerizing - the copper/bronze finish.
Anyway, as long as the owner is happy with the choice of color and wheels, it hardly matters!

although it isnt the best colour, i dont think red is that a bad color for the r8.. its only the side panels that spoil the look IMO.. not to mention those wheels!! but i guess like akshay1234 said, it might look a lot better in real..

It looks awesome in real.I remember there being a red R8 in hyderabad,pics had been posted here in tbhp and it looked amazing!

the r8 without the contrasting side panels looks butch!

probably that's the reason everyone is finding the red r8 weird. i have seen a white r8 with the same wheels and they look really good.

I am sure the red R8 will look much better in person than in pics. Have always observed this while clicking pics of red cars, dont know if its white balance or reflection which spoils it but yes red color doesnt look too well unless its by a professional photographer.

Its a standard spec R8 4.2 in brilliant red/brilliant red side blades combo. Wondering why he didn't go for carbon fiber shade side blades.
