Re: my 1984 merc 123 200d completely restored

Have you done some dashboard treatment too or is it stock? Looks like brand new.

Re: my 1984 merc 123 200d completely restored

Congratulations! She looks like she's just left the showroom. Very high quality paint job and interior job I have to say.

Can you please post some pics of the engine bay? I like the fact that you've managed to source the alloy wheels, which I think were fitted to the larger engined cars. They look great.

The 123's are ideal cars for daily driving, just before things started getting complicated on following series as far as electronics go.

Best Regards

Re: My '84 Mercedes W123 200d completely restored

LUCKY, LUCKY YOU! Congrats on a superb restoration. Definitely amongst the best W123s I've seen in India till date.

Was this car in the family? Or did you buy it, and then restore? How many kms? Details on mechanical restoration?

Nothing as classy as a well-restored classic Mercedes.

What-a-restoration! Amazing attention to detail and classy paint job. Kudos to you! It looks like it just rolled out of the showroom Share more details on the restoration.

Hope it still rides smoothly.

Re: My '84 Mercedes W123 200d completely restored

One of the best restorations carried out on a W123. The classic looks of the Merc still look great.

A few more pics of the interiors and the engine bay would be great. Also, if you could give a detailed report of the restoration, it would be a worthy read.

Very well done restoration, the beige interiors look pristine, are these stock or you had them changed now ? The car looks really classy. I though don't think those alloys go very well with this car, I look the old chunky merc logo mags.

That's one sure OE wheel for W123. What you're saying here is your personal preference. That was a pretty popular design by the way.

Amazing for sure. And the wheels are to kill for man.

One small advice, the music system looks totally out of place.Especially the rear oval speakers(sony?).Please remove the oval speakers from the parcel tray and get it installed in the trunk with a box. Also if possible get a black fascia HU.The silver is too glaring.

WOW!!.. The car looks fresh outta the showroom!. I see a Kerala registration. Was the car restored in Kerala?. If so, could you please share the details.

I'm surprised that one can achieve such quality whist restoration. Is it possible to post the pictures of the car prior to restoration, and the process?.

Thanks,

Dhanush

Amazing job even Germans would amaze at the precision work, as someone said it absolute condition as if just came out of showroom. I feel people having similar car get inspired and restore them if not to this state at least bring them out on roads rather going into grounds. Awesome restoration why don't you share the behind screen story, pictures which would even more excite us and can be an inspiration to someone.

to begin with, this vehicle was purchased from quilon(kerala), which is about 800 kms from bangalore. We drove this vehicle from quilon to bangalore. The journey was awesome. Our first stop was fort cochin ausome place then from there we headed to ooty via coimbatore stayed in my ooty banglow and headed back to banglore it was a great experience driving my w123 back home. I will download some picks of our journey very shortly.

this car was originally from Coimbatore owned by Rajendra Mills and came to Kottayam in 1995 and later landed up in Kollam.Did you restore it after purchasing it or you got the car in this condition from Kollam?
