@ My dear g1_gold.

You left with a gem of a car from my town, posted it on Team BHP and have all of us with our tongues hanging around like dogs waiting for the next meal. I too cannot stand the silence. Please share the details as early as possible, if you do not want us to land up at your doorstep tomorrow morning.

Sorry to keep every one waiting. For your information, this car was completely redone by me in Bangalore. The car had some rust in the platform so i replaced the platform section and got rid of a few dents. Then got it re sprayed. The seats were all original but dirty and looked aging so replaced them. Coming to mechanical bits, got a person from chennai who is good in w123s. Did every thing at my place. I replaced suspension ball joints upper and lower, then tie rod end, clutch plate assembly, rear shocks, engine mounts and gear box mounts

Re: My '84 Mercedes W123 200d completely restored

Amazing restoration!

I use a W123 300D as my daily car and am amazed each time by the way the car glides on the pot-holed roads! I got mine restored a few months back. Will post pics soon.

The only touch of a flaw in your shiny jewel is that its the underpowered 200. Looking at your car, how sincerely I wish it was a 300D...

Nonetheless, by far the best W123 restorations I have come across till date.

Wish you tons of attention and enjoyment with this beauty!

Cheers,

Vikas

Wow ! The restoration looks flawless. Congrats on a great job. Wish I had the time and the patience to do something like this. May I ask what would be the running average maintenance costs for this beauty?

The car looks awesome after the final touch by you. The previous owner maintained it extremely well too.

what a joke.. make a big hullaballoo about a car on the forum, then act as if u really don't want to let it go, and post it on tbhp classifieds for a hefty premium!

I don't think there is anything wrong with that! I am interested, just that don't have the time to manage an out of state deal. The price isn't much, considering the quality of restoration. Only icing on the cake would be if the seller can vouch for the quality of the work under the hood, or atleast write an account of his ownership...

Great job! The car looks amazing for its age. This is when MBZ's were built like bank vaults. Its sad that quality took a dive in the early 90's starting with the S-Class.

Absolutely gorgeous. One of the best W123s i have seen. The interior especially. Great touch. Unfortunate that you are selling it after restoring it to such spec.
Can you give information regarding how/where you sourced spares for this car. And who in Bangalore worked on it. Thanks.

I remember a W123 with a dealer from Bharanicavu. I remember it was Kottayam regn black 123 in a pretty bad state. Not sure about the number.

Is this the same one?

We have an ageing '79 240D at home, and it is almost scrap now. Mainly due to the non availability of parts. Can you please let me know the place you got the mechanicals done? Please help me in anyway you can to put my dad's car back on the road again. Attaching a pic for reference. Weird color, I know. ( sorry, could not get a better one, this one was during the photoshoot for our wedding.)
