Tail lamps must have been inspired from the current E-class. Interiors look good; central console is neat but design is nothing special/exciting. It looks more like a grown up 'estate car' than a SUV. I've started liking the present-gen ML!

The new ML-Class is a CKD product, assembled in Pune, while the outgoing model was a CBU. Huge growth is anticipated in the coming years for both Mercedes Benz SUVs, the reason why the ML-Class is assembled starting this year while the GL-Class will be, starting next year.

Mercedes will start assembling the ML-Class by Diwali but until then, the vehicles reaching customers are imported from Germany.

Saw this car in flesh while at the dealer today. Not on display yet though. The first few cars (100 or so) are supposed to be specially kitted - not sure about all special goodies but are shipped with 20 inch AMG wheels and Designo leather seats.

They are known as the Edition 1 and come with the AMG bodykit, 21" AMG wheel and the designo seats. The cars have 4 exterior colors and 2 interior colors to choose from. The Edition 1 also does not come with extra goodies over the stock SUV.

The cost for Edition 1 quoted by Cochin dealership seems very high at 76L, which is current GL price.

ML 350 CDI price starts from RS 68,46,667 ex-showroom Goa and the on-road price is RS 75,22,370.
