Thats a DC Avanti.
I've seen one of these test mules on Old Mumbai Pune road being loaded on a flat-bed

Finally the production version of the DC Avanti has been spotted undisguised.

DC Design has powered the Avanti with an EcoBoost four-cylinder 2.0-litre DOHC engine sourced from Ford. This motor, that features direct injection, produces 245bhp of power and 366Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-peed manual transmission. The current mill is Euro 5 compliant which can be upgraded to the upcoming Euro 6 norms enabling the company to consider it for the export market as well.

Expected Price: ₹25-30 lakh

Pheww! That settles a lot of conflicts in my mind.

When the car was first launched at Auto Expo the frontal view somehow actually looked good. DC seems to have realized the problem and took it back to the drawing board immediately and made it as hideous as the rest of the car.

Its a good initiative, but I think they should have spent more time with the design language, aerodynamics, high speed stability etc. They should have either consulted a design firm or utilized local design talent, I have seen a lot of good automotive designs coming from students pursuing a career in automotive design. Every time I look at this car I see a bunch of other cars that have been put together. Here they are, I hope I have not crossed the line by posting a picture of EON's headlights.

I wouldn't be surprised if people think the rear of the car is actually the front of the car.

That said, the side profile is probably the best way to look at the car. The front looks good too. The rear on the other hand, is a completely different story.

Either way, glad to see an Indian experiment on such a scale. Hope other OEMs take cue and start serving up some cars for the enthusiasts. Low kerb weight, aerodynamically efficient, decent horsepower, raspy exhaust note, Ah well. Distant dreams.

Yes! I thought I was the only one feeling this. He's put a grill at the back center bottom which is why it's appearing so I think...

It was quoted at 25-30L Ex-Showroom but this was back in 2013 if I remember correctly. Increasing production costs should set it a few L higher.

Well I'm proud to say that we Indians have our own sports car. I too like many hate the rear end. It like the viewer doesnt know which was is where. The front end reminds me a lot of the Zenvo ST1.
