what ajmat means is that the S550 is made for left hand drive countries like america and malaysia etc. it does not mean that the guy bought and brought the car from america in malaysia. in india and other countries where the cars are right hand drives it is badged a S500. hope you understand now.

No it does not. All W221 S-Classes come with these lights as standard i.e Halogens. This is a colour option for India and is most likely an Indian produced car.

To differentiate between the Bi-Xenons, you would see the following:

1. A projector
2. A clear lens (to where the high beam is)
3. A tiny bulb near the high beam (if the NightView Assist option is on the car)
4. You will also see a small 'flaps' integrated in the bumper near the headlights, these hide the water nozzles that spray water onto the headlights for cleansing (biggest give away!)

Also, the S550 is just the SAME as an S500. The S500 was rebadged to S550 for the American Market only. Even Canada gets the standard S500.

Cheers,
Akzz

Akzz id absolutely correct...one more thing, if its a night vision car, you can notice a small camera in the black shaded part on the front glass (on the place of rear view mirror)
