Super Car Club ( SCC ) Expedition- Leh/Ladakh 2012

The Super Car Club was formed in 2009. Right from its inception, The Super Car Club of India has been synonymous with events not seen or witnessed by the common man. This year again, led by the Chairman of Super Car Club - Mr. Gautam Singhania, the club is making a very interesting trip by conducting an event in North India.

Starting this weekend, the club members will embark on an expedition passing through Srinagar, Kargil, Leh, Pangyong, Nubara, Warilla & Khardungla in 9 SUV's comprising a fleet of 2 ML's, 2 GL's , 1 Q3 , 2 Q5 & 2 Q7 covering 800 kms of the most treacherous and scenic terrain. It promises to be an interesting trip, keep watching this space for daily updates.

That's a MPV - not Multi Purpose Vehicle, but a Mine Protected Vehicle. The underside of the chassis has a V-shape that deflects the force of a landmine blast.

This would be an interesting thread. Would be great to see these beauties in the midst of Leh-Ladakh Terrain.

Are these vehicles being provided by individual manufacturers - Audi, MB or are these the owned vehicles of the SCC members?

Can anyone explain how M&M wold benefit by sponsoring this event.

M&M IMHO fits in the sub 20 lac portfolio and All vehicle portrayed in the first post as above 30 lacs. JK Tyre is acceptable as they manufacture tyres for luxury SUVs.

Suggestion and thoughts from fellow BHPians ?

Maybe M&M would benefit by showing that you can drive on those tough terrains in a sub 15 lakh vehicle? I also noticed a prado in the group. So there are some tag-alongs with the group as well?

Re: Super Car Club ( SCC ) Expedition- Leh/Ladakh 2012

Mahindra has probably provided back-up vehicles. One can see a Scorpio Getaway with lots of brand new tyres loaded. In one of the pics, there is a Fortuner with a snorkel. Was it a part of the group?

Even though most SCC members might have a Benz, BMW or Audi as a daily drive - don't forget that they probably buy a 100 times as many Tatas & Mahindras as they do luxury cars. Reason being: the companies that they run and their employees have transport requirements too. The Mahindras would be a hit in the factory/rural locations etc.

Also it will be a nice bragging point for the Scorpio when it has to tow an ML or Q5 out of trouble.
