Nope right now no one is allowed in the seating area.
But yes a lot of cars are coming so I guess everyone must be coming here only.
They have put barrication on the entire stretch so you can stop only before or after that.

Edit : already saw quite some team-bhp cars in the parking.

Im at the venue and its really crowded but seems decently managed so far.

Posting LIVE from the venue. The only cars speeding in front of us are Cop cars taking rounds for security inspection. The VMM team members inspected the track in 2 C63s. A black E350 with a red light too followed them. Event is expected to start half an hour later

It's 15 minutes past the declared starting time. Lewis is nowhere to be seen and instead we're being shown a carnival of sorts -_-

The event was awesome !!
The F1 car is SO loud! And I loved the crackling noise it made!

I don't know why the Black E350 CDi had Amg plates.

But still the event was really good. I just found the beginning carnival boring.

Formula One has gained momentum in India with the first ever F1 race event held last year in Delhi at the BIC. Vodafone is the Title Sponsor and official 'Total Communications Partner' of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team since 2007.

This was Lewis's 5th visit to India: Vodafone customers karting mania in Mumbai-2008, Cricket fever in Delhi-2009, fun racing at Motor Sports Club in Chennai-2010 & city car run at Nice Road in Bangalore-2011.

Lewis Hamilton zoomed around in his F1 car (MP4-27) at Bandra Kurla Complex on 16/9/2012, fresh from his win at the Italian Grand Prix. The event was supported by MTDC and had all the required permissions from the authorities of MMRDA, Police and traffic authorities.

The entire stretch of road had enough posters to attract eyeballs.


And by eyeballs, I mean lots of eyeballs.

BKC route was closed for regular public, necessary diversions were made to avoid inconvenience to public.


That is the C63 AMG doing the rounds.


You can see AMG written on the front license plate, but thats a regular diesel powered E Class.


Radio Mirchi got a good vantage point higher from the regular public / media.

As if the delay wasn't enough, it started raining too.

Guys, it was breathtaking! Lewis Hamilton scorched the streets of BKC this evening in his Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. Burnt some serious rubber!

Although the real deal began almost 2 hours late (after a lot of avoidable buildup), it was totally worth the wait!

I have to say; that MP4-27 engine has a deafening, almost beastly growl. Quite a lot of folks were pressing their palms hard into their ears - such were the decibel levels! To add to the drama, there was a pretty stiff downpour just before flag off, so LH had to drive in the wet. And boy, did he entertain or what!

To top it all, LH did a coupla slick 360's right in front of us and followed it up with a thumbs up, just before stepping on the gas and zooming away leaving behind a spray of mist. That image, my friends, will stay with me forever!

This was an amazing event. Someone next to me had got his 4 yr old son who was anxious to see the car since hours, but finally when Lewis zoomed past, he got scared out of his wits.

The anchors - Mandira and Manish were totally idiotic, though.

Best apart about the whole thing was the fact that it rained just minutes before Lewis did the run and hence we got to see the spray behind the car.

Yes that was some experience! Totally mind-blowing!

You're right! Hamilton does know how to play to the gallery and play he did.

The C63s were driven by professional test drivers from the VMM F1 racing team. Naah again no lucky passengers, just the technical support and development team/race engineers riding with the drivers.
