Ya.. the car is veru basic.. no airbags.. no power steering.. although it did have aircon and a stereo.. getting in and out of the car is a nightmare.. and the car is so small that if u r driving an SUV u wont notice her in the mirrors!!

yeah the only gripe is it offers worst than bargin basement interiors but man does the car look good in orange...

actually now that i look at it, which sports car doesnt look good in orange..

btw nice shots, if i were getting this car it would be with full options, sent to a custom interior guy and redone the interior for a small price and then uped the power to compensate for the weight increase

This is how the interiors look in the US version...Maverick- do you know the specs of the car in your pictures? The ones here have a 1.8L engine, with 190bhp.. There's one at work, thats almost a brick color. Will try to get some pix soon..

You said it Mav. I once squeezed into the Opel version, VX200 I think. it was a royal pain getting out of it. The trick is to keep the top open, makes it a lot easier.

Hey Mav,

What i want to know is why the car was changed from the sexy 8-spoke original wheels to these absolutely boring OZ wheels (in comparison).

The original wheels were so much lighter than the previous generation wheels that it enabled Lotus to put in a stereo in place of the weight saved on the wheels

Maybe they weren't thought to be well suited to bombay roads?

Most certainly the best sporty car you can buy for about $50K. With the reliability of a Toyota Celica engine, and the body of a Lotus it definitely makes an ultimate car, with an impressive power to weight ratio. It is a very fast car, considering the tiny toyota engine. I guess its all because of the light body, and its design.

Also, this is one of the very few cars that you can get in many colors. The color options/variations are one too many. I have always wondered why the car is not gaining popularity. Somebody please donate me $50K!!!
