the duties would decrease in time on account of something to do with India being a part of ASEAN countries. there was an article earlier this year. will try to locate the article.

Both the Bentley's belong to a smuggler as reported in the press. His Ferrari was also seized but maybe he bought it back.

The Arnage RL Extended Wheelbase belonged to the DC Group, not sure if it was sold to the smuggler you are referring to.

I guess so since it was seized from his premises. He also bought the ex-AP F430 Spyder.

Sad to see such fine automobiles lying in this state, neglected and abandoned.

The Government should actually think about using such assets beneficially - sell them within 3 months of seizure and take the proceeds income; or refurbish them at their cost and put them up in technology museums for display; or use them for VIP transport.

Use Bentleys to transport MPs?
They aren't already drunk with enough power and ego that we have to do this as well : P?
Agree on your earlier statement on quicker auctions though.

re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

Thanks for the pics aman. Its really sad to see such cars in a pathetic condition. But theres nothing that we or the officials can do something about. For them, its just a car which has been imported illegally. They wouldnt spend from their own pockets to take care / maintain a car which is not owned by them.

I think the black SL can be seen (just a part of it) in the pic of the rear of the Arnage.

re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

Just for my information what would be the value of the bentley in this state? How much was it worth in 2008? Also after bidding doesn't one have to pay the relevant import duties/customs and Registration fees over and above the Bidding amount?
