Well, not an import, but looks like an import.

This is one car whose state no enthusiast will feel bad for . Big thanks to Shubham Yadav for sharing:

Wow that's a good find. Where was it spotted? I always used to wonder where the DC Wonder at disappeared after the movie. This one is definitely an import - a Toyota MR-2.

Related thread on the Tarzan.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

Finally pics of this 760 are up on the forum. This mighty 760Li has been rotting in that place since more than a year. Wonder what's gonna happen to it when the cops send a notice.

That's the rotting 760 I had mentioned here :
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super-...ml#post4098654

Seems like a good option to buy it at a throwaway price and restore it.

At least that is what I've heard from certain sources.
Sometimes it's also because of rising maintenance costs and owners opting for 3rd party insurance whose cover is usually negligible when it comes to major repairs. In many cases luxury cars are abandoned because of the cost of changing the airbag suspension, which is sometimes higher than the present value of the car.

But what you have mentioned is equally true, some diplomatic missions have a rule to remove the ECU and scrap the car while selling it.

This 316i has been lying there since more than 3 months. I believe it is awaiting repairs / parts. The only person who would make justice to this car would be Karan - 3 generations of the 3 Series

If this is an un-registered 760Li - the it sounds very fishy. I believe this is one of the initial 2 760Li's (BMW 760Li V12!!)that were imported by Navnit Motors when the 760 Li was launched here. There could be no way Navnit Motors would have sold a car without registering it. From the time I saw this car more than 2 years go - it never had a number plate.

Maybe Maverick would be able to tell us the whole story.

I recall somewhere that Bombay Dyeing had a troublesome 760Li which was replaced by an S Class. Perhaps this was one of theirs. They are known for abandoning such cars normally in their compound though.

From the link - it look like thoses 760's started life in Ahmedabad

Big thanks to Swapnil for sharing!

Neglected Audi A8 at Kora Kendra, Borivali. Hope it's just the owner travelling abroad (or similar) and not a 'rest in peace'. Too new for that:

I wouldn't say these have been abandoned - these are probably waiting repair works / parts. There are a couple of garages which work on imported / high end cars in the vicinity and most of their cars which are awaiting repair are parked there. The W123 probably is abandoned since it's been lying there for a very long time.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

These have been lying around since quite a while. The TownCar though came just a couple of days ago. Also, there's a third gen VW Polo here.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

With the local RTO's cracking (Chrysler 300C Limousine) down on limousines / stretched cars, it's best for the Town Car (Pics : Lincoln Continental Limo in Mumbai) to stay off the road.

What about the red V70 Estate and th other white car - Toyota Crown / Nissan Cedric? Which place is this?

The W126 looks abandoned but restorable.
