For the older Mercs/other cars, I agree on that as they would be undergoing restoration. But that's a 750Li up there! One of the rarest breed of F01/F02 in India. He who has got it shouldn't be someone least capable of handling the maintenance bill from a big ticket workshop. Given that such workshops won't park their cars in such a manner at an open space, I highly doubt, that 750Li is abandoned due to some lawsuit strife.

You'd be more correct than me about the car, but just can't digest that a workshop which is trusted to work on such a vehicle would let it out in the dust.

Agree with you E = mc˛,

However, this happens a lot in Mumbai. The 760Li that you see in the previous page. That's not exactly abandoned - but it is awaiting some critical engine and suspension parts. Its too expensive to get it repaired at an authorised BMW workshop - hence parts need to be sourced from local / third party vendors. The car has been lying in that very same place for close to 2 years - hence looks abandoned. The 760Li is more rarer than the 750Li - and then too it's being treated in such a manner.

I would say in most of these cases - the car has either exchanged a couple of hands and the new owner probably wasn't prepared to foot such a huge repair / maintenance bill.

The W126 looks abandoned but restorable.
All these are parked at Babulnath, in the lane besides S&F. This was a popular garage many years ago and had several imports with dodgy or no paperwork. Now, many cars like the ones in the picture and then some are just parked, gathering dust.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

Saw an ugly E65 7-Series parked under the Mahim Causeway bridge (where the cops dump cars). Couldn't take a pic as was in a fast moving Uber. It definitely looked like it's been there since a while.

From all the pics on the thread, this one has caused me the most heartache. It's almost poetic.

Hello R32,

I saw this car today. It's located in one of the lanes opposite National College, Bandra. It's the lane opposite Patwardhan Park. Here is a pic I took today.

Caught it today, along with the ugly Teana.

Looking at the wheel lock and the fact that the E65 had out-of-state plates, this looks like more of a cop seizure, right?

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

I doubt they would be out of state seizures because they are treated in a better way ... At least that was what was done by the Andheri RTO. They were parked in the basement of the Andheri RTO. This looks like a case of this car abandoned on the street and blocking traffic.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

Been seeing this CLS350 (badged CLS63) gathering dust since a couple of months. The quad exhausts at the back look very tacky and cheap.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

This A7 seems to have been lying around for a long time. Located in Kolkata. Wonder why would someone leave such a beauty in this state? Picture taken from 'Elite Car Club Kolkata', on Facebook. Picture doesn't belong to me, credits to the original poster.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

Wow, this looks like a huge scrapyard - is this where all the Kurla CST Road scrapyards have been relocated after they were moved.

The BMW GT (3 probably) looks like it has met with a pretty bad accident. Can also see a Mercedes GL, E Class, Audi Q7, A3, BMW GT, 3 Series.

Because, as is evident from the picture, the suspension, like many of it's siblings, is busted. Must've been a second hand vehicle, and now, the current owner probably is falling short of funds to fix the damage.
