Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

I’ve always wondered aloud whatever happened to this particular Supra and where it is today. Any leads would be appreciated highly.

Wow, nice to see the old plates on the Supra. Any idea if this is (or rather was) the Lokhandwala Supra. Back in the mid 90s, there were 2 Supras in Lokhandwala, Mumbai (silver and red) - both owned by brothers.

Does anyone have pics of it?

I am a bit confused on the whacky modification point... Are you referring to the humps in the rear ? Aren't the humps trailing behind the seats and the fins are native to the spyder ? If its something else, I am missing it, nothing stands out to my eyes.

The humps are far from the ones which are standard on the Spyder. There is absolutely zero finesse in the work that has been done, the finishing is crude and this absolutely ruins the beauty of the Porsche Boxster.

Reminds me of wacky Lamborghini kits on Toyota Corollas and Honda Accords with scissor doors.

True, this really looks whacky. There seems to be something wrong with this Boxster. A second gen Boxster with so much of modifications - rear bumper, the humps (which are not proportional), alloys. Wondering if this was one of the accidental Boxsters that has been salvaged.

Re: Pics: Imports gathering dust in India

Here's a rare CL500 Coupe gathering dust, saw it parked along the road in Lodhi Road just outside the bylane which leads to the Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.

There was a W220 S Class and an old ML350 lying over the footpath on the other side of the road as well but I forgot to click pictures of those cars.

Audi A8 W12 spotted abandoned in Mumbai

An Audi A8 W12 has been spotted abandoned in Mumbai. The car looks to be in a really bad shape with missing windows, windscreen, grille, front bumper and headlights.

The W12 engine was offered with the first three generations of the A8. This seems to be the second generation of the luxury sedan.

The second-generation W12 was offered with a 6.0-litre engine producing 444 BHP and 580 Nm. According to Audi, the car could accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

I stay in the lane near to this said garage. It is behind Maruti Suzuki showroom on S V Road in Goregaon West.

Almost daily I keep seeing such luxury cars in sad state near this garage. I am still wondering what this garage do? Because most of the cars that I see seems to be abandoned for years.

Found a VW GTI abandoned at the new VW showroom, Bhubaneswar (the one managed by OSL). Registered in Maharashtra. The staff at the showroom themselves don’t seem to have the clue about the vehicle’s history or the reason for being in such a dilapidated condition. I believe that when the old showroom closed out, the old vehicles were shifted to the new one and this one was one of them. Anyways, this was still in their yard as on Oct 2021.

Does anyone know if this car is still there in the VW showroom in Bhubhaneshwar? Would appreciate if anyone who knows a point of contact in the showroom can share the contact details with me as I stay in Bangalore. Thanks.

This beast is in a really sorry state. A quick search on the Vahan App reveals that the GTI is owned by an individual who is the second owner already. Though the number is MH registered the App suggests its registered in Odisha, probably the owner bought it from Mumbai and transferred to his name through Odisha RTO. Would be great to see this beast in it's prime again.

I am waiting for an opportunity to buy a used GTI. Would appreciate if anyone on the forum having leads could point me to them.

As of 1549 Hrs 27/01/2022 it is owned by a Jeweller based in Cuttack and they have sent it for repairs. They say that they are not interested in selling it .

Glad I found them before I booked by ticket to Bhubhaneshwar.

The search goes on.
