Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Automobili Lamborghini has launched an exclusive 'India Limited-Edition Gallardo LP550-2' priced at Rs. 3.06 Crore only (Ex-showroom Maharashtra)

• To mark its 50th anniversary, Lamborghini wanted to provide something special for the Indian market where they have found a good business potential, hence a six car only limited edition has been launched.
• Lamborghini decided to use their best selling model for this limited edition, the Gallardo. There are around 12,000 Gallardos running on the streets worldwide, since the Gallardo was launched in 2004.
• Powered by a V10 engine, the Gallardo LP550-2 produces 543 BHP @ 8000 RPM & 540 Nm @ 6500 RPM. With a top speed of 320 kph, the LP550-2 shoots from 0-100 kph in 3.9 seconds.
• To suit the Indian road conditions, the car features a lift suspension. With the push of a button, the ground clearance increases by 40 mm taking it to 165mm. The GC reduces once you gain momentum.
• Combined fuel consumption is at 7.51 kpl.
• These 6 limited edition cars will then be split into 3 groups; based on the colours. 2 cars each available in pearl orange, white & pearl green. (Read Indian Tricolour)
• All cars will boast the Indian tricolour stripes running the entire length of the car.
• 1 car has already been sold last week, so that leaves only 5 cars available for sale.

Similarly 2-3 years back Lamborghini had launched a 'China' edition for Murciélago SV which was limited to 10 units.

Regarding this limited edition model i dont see much of changes other than the a limited edition paint work & may be an Indian flag emossed on the body panels.

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has just launched an "India" Limited Edition model of the Gallardo LP550-2, as a part of the brand's 50th anniversary celebrations. Only 6 units of the supercar will be built, thus making the Indian edition, in Lamborghini's words "highly exclusive". The supercar is priced at 3.06 crore rupees, ex-showroom Maharashtra.



The car is imported from Sant'Agata, the location of Lamborghini's factory in Italy, as a completely built unit (CBU). A distinct feature of the Gallardo India Limited Edition is its paint job. The car sports a tri-colour stripe (similar to a GT stripe) running across its length.

The tri-colour represents the Indian flag, thereby giving the car its "India Limited Edition" moniker. The car is available in three colours (2 cars in each colour): Arancio Borealis (Pearl Orange), Bianco Monocerus (White) and Verde Ithaca (Pearl Green). Another touch symbolizing the car's limited edition credentials is the 'India Serie Speciale' plate on the driver-side quarter glass.

On the inside, the Gallardo's India theme continues. While the interiors feature a black base, the stitching on the driver's seat is in green, that on the passenger's seat being orange and that on the doors being white. The Gallardo is powered by a 5.2 liter-V10 engine that is naturally aspirated.

The motor outputs 550 Bhp at 8,000 rpm while the peak torque figure of 540 Nm is produced at 6,500 rpm. Aluminum is the name of the game on the Gallardo LP550-2, with the material being extensively used on the body shell and frame of the car. The car gets a host of safety features such as ABS, ESP. Airbags and Anti-Slip Regulation.

The Gallardo LP550-2 hurtles to 100 Kph from standstill in 3.9 seconds while top speed is rated at 320 Kph. Lamborghini has two showrooms in India, one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai. Both showrooms sell the Gallardo and Aventador range of supercars. Lamborghini is now a part of the Volkswagen group as it is owned by Audi.

i am glad they came with the pre-facelift vehicle for the special edition

sorry doctorque - tried my level best to start liking it - but this one works for me better

for the indian edition they could have come up with better ground clearance (which they have given - mere 40 mm at a push of a button), more tolerance to fuel quality (though it boasts an impressive 7.5kmpl), a loud alarm and an electric zapper for people who touch it when it's locked, smaller alloys and a thicker walled tyres (to absorb those bumps) and specs and price printed all around it - now that would have made more sense as indian edition - just saying :P

Internationally the 2013 LP550-2 continues unchanged apart from a few subtle modifications. The bonkers 2013 facelift is only slapped on the LP560-4 models.

While it may be nice that there is a Indian special and all, I am sick of seeing Gallardo's being rebranded with different stickering and interior stitching and being sold as 'Editions'

Photos have finally emerged of the Gallardo's replacement and it's about time Lambo drops the faf and gives up on their best selling car... hopefully replacing it with something much more monstrous!!

Scorcher had told me last time that Lamborghini isn't as stringent as Ferrari in selling their limited editions, so this applies to these 6 Gallardos too ?
Or is there some criterion this time around?

+1 Taronish. On reading your post, I could think of atleast 5 models and when I checked the Lamborghini site I was almost right, there are 6 of them!
Enough of tweaking the looks of the car and giving new "stitch" colors Lamborghini!!

Then I talked about ultra rare cars like the LaFezza and Veneno. The India Serie Speciale Gallardo isn't any different from the stock LP550 they sell other than the decals and the plaque.

So no, they're going for the conventional method itself. As mentioned above by parrys, one of the six have already been sold and the remaining five are up for grabs. Write down a cheque for 3.06cr + tax and it's yours
