Hi liv2drv,
I believe I saw the grey CLS500 around G.S.B Ganapathi at Matunga the last few days.
Was it you by any chance as the plates was a DL number and the color was also the same?

@liv2drv

Any idea what went wrong with the 999 that it caught fire?

Did it happen when you were riding it?
Must have been scary!!

And the vantage is there with you in mumbai itself?

Having a bit of a problem deciding what to do with our 360 here in London.
The choice is to sell it here (not much point as car sales are really down) or to ship it to Delhi. I'm just wondering if its worth sending it to India. the way i figure... i'll be paying quite a bit for import duty. But then again, its probably worth it as the 360's in India are going for stupid money!
What do you guys suggest?

Bring it to India. I'll be glad to take care of it while you find a buyer for it

Liv2drv sell it in London itself and upgrade to something better and then bring the new toy down if you want to. The 360 would make you spend a ridiculous amount in duties and other charges and i dont see it being worth it. Yes the 360's do go for unrealistic figures here but the current flavour is the F430. My suggestion exchange the 360 there with the 599 and you have a big smile on your face.

@ nikhilb2008 Liv2drv is not going to bring the car here with the intension to sell it. He is going to make the car roar till he gets bored of it.

if i'm getting extra cash by bringing it to India... why not? haha. but, to me i dont want anything faster then the 360. In Delhi anything faster with a tendancy to push cars a little bit... is begging for disaster. You always get a bit carried away with the lack of road safety enforcement and do stupid things. But then again, the 360 is a bit more brutal then the refined 430. slight slip ups can be a bit more than bargained for. So i'm a bit confused. We have replaced the 360 in London with a dbs. So now in London we have The Dbs, Flying Spur, Bentley Gt, SL 500, ML 500, Range Rover vogue, Porsche 993 and the Hummer H2.

I had read somewhere on the forum that if you own a car for more than six months in a foreign country and then plan to get it to India the the import duty charged on the car is just about 25% of the cars original price. So, if what I have said is right, probably if you would have brought down the 360 to India, then it would have worked out to be cheaper and you could have been able to sell it at a real good price. Anyways congrats on your newly delivered babies.

@JayaBusa
You need to be staying in the foreign country for a continuous duration of at least two years and owning the car there for at least one year. In such a case you can bring down the car via TR (Transfer of residence) where the duty I think is close to 80% (not sure) of the depreciated value. And you cannot sell the vehicle here for 2 years time.

Its a fabulous collection you have got ...

I went through the whole 23 pages in a single stretch, and still eager for more.

Keep us updated on something or the other, a drive experience in any of them.

Its great to read thru your post
