Been spotting this car off late in the Dadar-Matunga-Sion region

Having highly suspicious proportions, I kept a lookout and one day it rolled next to me at a signal.
The person driving it,on asking what car answered that it is a Chrysler off roader.

The TRD Sportivo badges on the rear made me cringe in my driving seat,so did the Esteem tail lamps and the Sumo headlights (no, i did not forget the only 'Chrysler' component which is the grille ) :Frustrati

So the main question remains, what car is this 'ORIGINALLY'?

Mods : If this is the wrong place to post, please do move the thread to the apt location
Thanks

Its a modded Lada Niva.
You should have punched the driver when he said Chrysler off roader

The Body style looks like a Lada Niva, modded with a chrysler front grill, Sumo Head lights and rear light cluster from Esteem.

Haha I kept looking at the pics to find more panels and parts from other 'donor' cars :deadhorse

That Lada Niva could have been in the tastefully modified thread, if the owner had retained the original front & rear end. Then again, the car is here because it is absolutely weird.

Shame really, genuine Ladas are very rare in India. And the Niva is actually a pretty decent off-roader.

True, have only seen 2 Ladas till date including this Chrysler-Lada lol:

But the audacity of telling me its a Chrysler Off Roader (with TRD Sportivo badges :deadhorse ) beats me.

Ok. Time to move this piece of iron to the Weird and Whacky Thread. :uncontrol

And the next time you are in the vicinity, wear a Traffic uniform and pull this stuff aside and ask the driver to show the documents. :D

Saw the car again last evening, asked the driver and pat came the answer with a BIG smile, " Chrysler Off Roader hai yeh " :Frustrati

Time to carry a Traffic Cop attire next time around stupid:

The owner could have restored the car beautifully for the money he wasted on cheap modding! What a sad sight.I am personally a big fan of Lada Niva and this picture really made me sad.
