The LP720-4 Anniversario and the Nero Nemesis Oakley Avent too wouldnt turn up I am told and no chance of an F12 to come either.
So just hoping AM brings in something interesting like the Virage Volante or the V12 Vantage S. Again, just hoping.

Oh man! That's disappointing. I was really looking forward to see it in flesh tomorrow. Name: icon9.gif

I guess I'll have to make do with ogling at the other beasts.

Few more pics today :D

Really disappointed with the SSC show this time!

The rally did not EXIST!

3 cars move ahead then 15mins later another batch of 3, and so on!

Completely disappointed! And the amount of cars that turned up were very very less.

As usual those window poppers were in huge number and SSC couldn't do anything about it!

All in all a complete FLOP!

Will share some pictures from my end.

Pictures from todays show.

The showstopper in my opinion! Sorry couldn't capture the open roof look.

Few of the rides😍
The green lambo was driven by Mr. Singhania himself

And some from my side. I am loving my new found zeal for supercars (not that I did not have the zeal before, but I was too lazy to do something about it). Leched at the assortment of Lambo's. The Lotus stole my love. Revered the Continental GT and the Ghost! Shocked by the T Rex!

Can anyone point out the reason for several supercar owners to shy away from participating in the rally?? I am sure all Mumbaikars were expecting to feast their eyes and treat their ears with the sights and sounds of a lot more supercars.

Today it seemed like a private display of Mr. Singhania's collection along with a few cars of his friends. Are the numerous (over-)enthusiastic followers chasing these cars around a reason which made these supercar owners stay away from the event or was it the pathetic condition of our roads?? It cannot be the latter as every night there are several mean machines roaring away (all of which were absent today) irrespective of the road condition, so I am assuming the former reason can be one of the reason.

Nevertheless it was a treat to watch the cars that participated :thumbs up.

It was terrible to see the way people were driving like maniacs and chasing the supercars in their regular cars and I'm sure this is the exact reason why many supercar owners chose not to participate in the rally.

There were people coming out of windows, sunroofs, rear hatches and what not. I even saw a guy on Worli Seaface who was driving next to an R8 who slowed down on the road and told his passenger to get down and click a pic of his Alto and the R8 together!:Frustrati

Well, supercars can never be boring to look at, and whatever of em turned up were sure drool stuff !

The DHC,the X6M and the prism gold Aventador all being the showstoppers (the matte blue R8 V10+ being no less of a looker either)

Krazy Kreissiegs,Amazing Akrapovics and Roaring RPI exhausts made up the eargasms :D

A healthy splattering of Bimmers of all types was evident as well !

The Ferraris and Lamborghinis need no introduction , they are loud, strikingly stunning and the best of automotive engineering all rolled into a single package!

The Rolls Royce Ghosts,Phantoms and the Bentley Continentals have unmatched road presence.

The Audis were well represented by the RS5s and a trio of R8s

Maybe the Astons,Mercs and Porsches had the lowest count among all brands with a majority of Mercs being G Wagens.

But when all of them are put together,I personally don't see a reason to complain whether the show was good or not, coz I enjoyed being there among the cars all day
Comparisions with previous editions are bound to happen but whatever was there should and was enough to make a petrolhead happy ! :D

P.S The only reason I see why we see lesser cars is because the roads were nightmarish for any owner today with people standing in a group right in the middle of the road not allowing em to pass and inadvertently creating chaos.
Honestly,I won't be surprised to see a few of this years participants missing the next year.
And yes, as mentioned by someone above, the parade could have been handled a little bit better and a convoy would have been EPIC too look at, but thats too small a detail to be unhappy about
Will post my share of pics ASAP

By the time i arrived a little after 9:30 for the event, the venue was choc-o-bloc with people & the cars could hardly be seen. I hope the organizers somehow manage to shift to Racecourse next year. It was more fun standing at Worli seaface & enjoying the cars.

My brother and me attended the 2014 Parx Supercar rally today. Having seen most of the cars in the previous rallies, our plan was just to have a good look at the cars. We did not have any passes so we thought of just waiting at the exit and see the cars pass by.

When we reached the menu, we were shocked at the amount of crowd that had gathered outside the vidhan bhavan. It was crazy. We called up Dippy who was leaving for the day and handed us his passes. It was nice meeting Dippy, Karthick, Priyank and another A4 owner (sorry didn't get ur name).

We entered inside to be welcome by more chaos. The entrance had most of GS cars - the Ford hotrod, the yellow 458, the 348, the green Gallardo Superleggera, the M3 and the orange Gallardo- along with other cars like the wrapped Aventador, the red 458, the Supertroefe and the chrome Gallardo SE.

The other participant cars were parked a little on the inside - especially the Bentleys, BMWs and the AMGs.

The turnaround this year was lower than last year and I would call that disappointing. To me it was less exciting compared to the initial rallies. And I wouldn't blame this on the organizers at all. We have to give due credit to Gautam Singhania who has managed to organize such a great event - and that too free for the public. Car enthusiasts get to see and hear these cars very closely. The non car enthusiasts also get a chance to see such exotic cars which on any other day would not catch their attention. The low turnover for the events would definitely be the following :
1. Participants are scared to get their exotics in public places on any given day. Getting it for a rally would be a harrowing experience altogether. The only cars that were actually guarded and not allowed to be touched were GS and the Poonawala cars. There was no one to watch over the other cars. People were seen leaning on some cars and fidgeting with the logos. Coming too close to the cars can lead to it being scratched badly. Although getting it retouched or painted is not gonna be a pinch to the owners - but why would he want that to happen.
2. Its very dangerous to drive these cars in the rallies because you never know who would suddenly stop or come in your way. An examples of a car hitting the Maserati a few years ago. I am not sure what happened this year but the Maserati Grancabrio had its rear number plate hanging from one side. Again a risky thing for the owner and hence they try to stay away.

Again these instances are out of the organizers control and there is very little even the cops will do to help them.

What I think can be done at the organizers end is the following :
1. Have a small barricade around each of the participating cars so no one can enter and come closeor touch the cars.
2. With the help of the police they could even barricade the entry and exit points of the venue so that the cars can pass through easily. My heart was in my mouth when I saw the cars passing through a human barricade from the venue and even through the small lane outside the venue.
3. This idea may sound very stupid - but they could have an official videographer filming the event. They could put up a screen outside the venue so that people standing out get a view of the cars. I know this does not give the feeling of seeing the car in person - but its good enough to control the crowds outside.
In the same way - they could have an official photographer taking pics and beaming all the photos to everyone who has their cell Bluetooth on. People get close to the cars to take pics. This is a better way to give them what they want. I am not sure on the technicalities of this option - but I think it is possible.
4. If it is possible for the organizers to get hold of the bandra working sea link, they could do a timed run of one car at a time and record it. This coukd be a safe option since there would be no traffic on the entire way. Again it may not be feasible and possible to shut down the sea link for this event.

These are only some thoughts that I could come up with. Whatever said and done - this rally does deserve a huge applause and appreciation.

Did anyone notice the BBT sticker on the RR Drophead ? I am wondering did the guy really bought a used drophead?

Does anyone have any videos of the Vorsteiner GTRS3 ? The color scheme is a bit loud for my liking but :thumbs up for uniqueness.

From the point of view of a father the rally was a great introduction to these cars for a bunch of 11 year olds. Thankfully this year the rally did not take place on 26th Jan like it did earlier and hence kids did not have to go to school for Republic Day celebrations on the day of the rally.
