At that price point, Petrolheads are really going to be in a deep soup of confusion. Especially if u dont have any particular preference to sports or comfort.
The options?

1) Heart says CLA45 AMG.
2) Brain says shell out a little more and go in for a S-Class or 7 series?
3) But the SOUL in me says, hey! Why not go for something which gives you the best of both worlds? Maybe a 530d should be just fine!

I just can't get enough of the CLA AMG advertisement. I saw it on a big screen TV yesterday and my eyes were just fixated as the ad rolled.

I heard that the GC is not that great.
Does anyone know how much it is on the CLA 45 compared to the standard CLA?

Err...I think he asked how the ground clearance compares, not price.
The GC on the regular CLA is fairly more than the AMG. The athletic stance is non existant on the bread and butter CLA.

Upgraded 2016 Model Year Import


Reviving an Old thread , Mercedes has a couple of 2015 Model Year cars which are being offered with free Insurance & 3 Year Star pack. Local dealer is also offering most of his margins , I have been touch with fellow owners in this forum in private but am undecided , does this make sense at these offers / discounts ? what are other options at this price point ,

A quick lookup at Zauba and then to VIN lookup - Mercedes have imported one car for homologation which will have a better engine ( MY2016 produces more BHP from the same block as per wiki ) , Different suspension ( ? ) , Car Play and LED lights

Its a fun pocket rocket. How "pocket" it is will depend on the price. Do PM me or mention what price you are getting it at so I can give you a better opinion. Usually the dealer margins are not that high for the discount to be very large unless MBIL is giving some massive support to clear stock. Then you will get it at a steal.

Alternately, I think the S5 is a great option. Atleast it is a v6 and not a 4cyl like the AMG45

S5 is a good option too, I've driven it on track and it handles well, though doesn't sound as good as the AMG. Also, you can wait for the new BMW M2, that will be a rwd and world wide reviews state it is better than the M4 in the real world. It is also being planned for launch in the final quater of 2016.

The price for the 2016 CLA45 model will go up by atleast few lacs, I'm sure audi will have some discounts on the S5 as well. I've hardly seen any on the roads till date, there must be some unsold stock with audi.

Yes, there are some good reviews about M2 and is apparently sold out in few markets till 2017 but the way BMW prices its cars especially M - I don't expect them to price lower than 1 Cr.

On MB India website power of CLA45AMG is listed as 381 Bhp - can you check if your's is any different or the new Model Year 2016 will be higher & this are old figures.
