Used to see this very well maintained 1932 Chevrolet Confederate in my neighbourhood. It was always kept under wraps though. So today, me and fellow member Shreeram paid a little visit to the owner. The car is in immaculate condition, and has most parts original. The owners son drives it every Sunday. The paint has been recently changed to green. The I6 engine pumps out a sprightly (for the time) 60hp. Sorry for the quality as pics were taken with a camera phone (and not a good one at that).

hey seems nice! im suprised i missed this one...
a friend of mine (erstwhile maharaja) has a very similar 1930 chevy in the family from new, which he restored a few years back....we took best restored, best maintained, and best performance 3 years in a row at the local rallies in that with me navigating...!

guys, next time anyone in pume goes sniffin for cars do let me know...

Wow! What a gem you've unearthed Sajo!
It even has the chrome-plated engine doors which apparently was an extra cost option in 1932.

Are the wire wheels, 18-inchers? If so, that was a rare option too!

Today's asking price in the USA is US$26,000 (approx. Rs. 12,50,000).

Mind boggling to imagine an overhead valve straight six-cylinder in 1932
producing 60bhp breathing through a simple Carter carburettor.

Trivia: 1932 is the year, India embarked on their first cricket Test match at Lord's. Custom required the skipper to be an Indian of princely birth. The first captain to England was the Maharaja of Porbandar.:)
