re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

Not an unusual sight today. There are Audi R8's, 5 series BMW's and now even small Indian hatchbacks with chrome wraps. Seen a santro recently with red chrome wrap.

re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

What a waste of an otherwise gorgeous Z4 :( Half of the curves and cuts are not coming through with this wrap. Somehow, such a chrome wrap goes better with R8s than z4.

Talking about silver chrome wraps on R8s and Bee M 5ers , here's the all new S wearing the same dress designed by the same designer.

D.A.D was also the first to wrap a supercar in chrome! 2 years ago and I think the wrap is still on the car Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports-imageuploadedbyteambhp1414116577.531957.jpg

To me these chrome and golden cars look hideous! Why would someone want to wrap their car in chrome?

In chrome or gold one doesn't get to see the curves the body lines the natural beauty of car!
The Z4 is such a beautiful machine, the Chrome / Gold hides the natural beauty.

And come on Chrome a R8?
Just look how beautiful a normal non chrome R8 looks?

According to me these cars belong in the weird and wacky mod jobs

No the wrap is off, so are the BBS rims. This car is now brushed gold and gloss black wrapped.

Here are a couple of pics of a Sheikh-class C63 AMG done by Motormind in Bangalore. Pics by the owner himself.

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

I feel the chrome wrap is the fad thats still going on way longer than it probably has the right to.. that said, the quality of some of these wraps are really commendable.. i wish some of their clients attempt something out of the box. or atleast something like Jon Olsens wraps, and stray away from matte and chrome..

Folks from the southern tip of our country would be able recognize this 7 series instantly!

And this R8 shares the same garage!

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

I am shocked to see the hopelessly poor aesthetic taste of these people. Just look at what the guy has done to his wonderful machine. Tongue in cheek, these guys must be one of those with black money in Swiss bank accounts. Such abnormalities are generally seen in humans with too much money.

Similar things people do with there faces too by undergoing plastic surgery to look better but end up looking like real aliens. Google image search on how Michael Jackson and Jocelyn Wildenstein looked before and after.

This guy has done same thing with his BMW.

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

I have seen a chrome wrapped Skoda Octavia (Previous Generation) in Pune but did not get a chance to take a picture. Like other cars posted above, the car lost its characteristics .

Btw how do these guys do it? As in what is the process? Is it some paint or some electroplating process?

Its a wrap. That is, a simple sticker all over the body of the car

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

Keeping the "looks" aspect aside, I feel the chrome wrap could be distracting at night for other drivers.

For example, one of the pictures shared by Warwithwheels above shows lights reflecting from the body. Now imagine trailing such vehicle at a distance; you may- for a moment at least- mistake it to be an incoming vehicle with headlights on
