These cars are making me drool. OMG, they just look so cool.

To add to what Car-go-man said, even when driven in harsh sunlight, these cars will be distracting for oncoming traffic.

Like someone mentioned its a sticker thats meticulously applied over the desired areas of a car. Heres an example how its done.

another trend is the PlastiDip, which is a bit like a temporary paint which can be peeled off. However afaik, this is yet to catch up in India..

Cheers!!

The skill involved in the process is definitely commendable! But frankly, an old school paint job anyday!! :-)

I think the draw to plati-dips/wraps is more a case of being able to easily reverse the effect.

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

I think the quality (or type) of the chrome wrap matters a lot. While I absolutely hate the Z4 look, on the other hand the chrome on the Lambo looks awesome!

The chrome on the Z4 is more in the face unlike the subtle wrap of the Lambo.

Super Cars look awesome in metallic colors - be it wrap or paint!

I have seen a similar one in Belapur, Navi Mumbai - Total Car Mall. They too source wraps for most of the cars. Here's what I captured. They are located near the Palm Beach road, where the Z4's are spotted posing.

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

I had seen a polo and a santro wrapped, one in black and the other one in blue. Both of them looked hideous. I have not seen the golden and the chrome ones, but I am not sure how easy it would be to keep these off the prying looks and nails of people passing by.

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

The Touareg is one hell of a looker. Looks smashing in red. Not Chrome but this sure seems to be a high quality wrap with excellent fit and finish. Matt finish. Correct me If i am wrong.

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

I won't be caught dead in one of these chrome-covered monstrosities but heck, each to his own. Bling is Bling!

But the red wrap on the Touareg is awesome!

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

Could be a stupid question but is this legal? Should the owner change the color on the RC after the "wrapping"?

Unfortunately you will not find much support from any quarter on this forum on this one mate. Whilst the governance train has begun to move out of the station, we are still in make believe "Chennai Express" out here. In fact you are being a buzz kill, gauging by the temperament and past presidencies being silly

I have had a similar doubt.

Then again, in Karnataka, my bike's colour in the RC is listed as PBK.

Means?

Panther Black.

I am not sure how they expect anyone to know this to be honest.

Either way, I believe one could get into trouble if the colour on the RC and the colour don't match the odd day during checking. Could lead the cops to believe the car is using wrong plates and could force them to do a chassis number check.

Sorry if I dampened the mood, make no mistake, I had a buzz myself when I looked at these chrome wrapped beauties, it was a question that came to my mind and I was wondering if someone knew the answer.

Re: Chrome-wrapped Supercars & Imports

A friend saw this E-class being wrapped in Gold in Frazer town this afternoon. Sorry for the poor quality pics. There wasnt enough room to take a pic of the whole car. Was being done in a very cramped place.

EDIT: Just got information that it is a Cruze and not a E-class. Mods please delete if found unfit. The thread is for supercars and imports after all.
