Re: #ProjectMegapra | The 1000hp Supra Build from Kerala

Good to see so many Toyota Supra getting re-built and being used well.

Oh boy look at that cabin, a proper tuner car feel with all the gauges doing what they are meant for and not just hanging around as a show piece.

I'm subscribed to this thread now, waiting in anticipation for the final result with at least a teaser video.

Re: #ProjectMegapra | The 1000hp Supra Build from Kerala

Had the privilege to sit in this car while it was with its ex owner. 750bhp at that time. Though for a short distance i totally loved the kick i was getting. and that turbo whistle <3 What a mad and a beautifully maintained car that is !! Great to hear it gonna be 1000 bhp soon.

Boy, you couldn't be more wrong. You really need to get out of Cochin and drive on Trivandrum or Thrissur routes.

I agree Kochi roads are a mess at the moment cos of the Metro work, but other than that KL roads are a bliss to drive on. Bombay roads are not even surfaced properly, even on BWSL. Delhi roads is the world's biggest demolition derby and Bangalore speed humps have mountaineers lined up at the base camp!

Interesting you brought that up. In fact, out of the top BHP cars in the country, this is the ONLY one being built in India. The Gallardo was done up in US, the R33 Dragster in Australia and the AMS GTR in Dubai.

So, this is could very well be the Country's Most Powerful Build

Nope, it's being done at Kochi.

Oh, alright. Still that retains the 2nd position.

..and if you meant Bhpian ecks' black GTR, AFAIK, its an AMS Alpha 6 and should be churning out about 600ish ponies.

Initially yes she was done in Dubai and came, but everything additional including new engine goodies, gear box etc have all been in Bombay.

She always was in 1st position, but positions is not what the car was built for, so it really makes no difference to the owner as whose car is faster..he built it for himself not to show.

I am not talking of Ecks car when it was with him, people do upgrade power on cars.

I like the attitude.
I am living in kollam and I must say that my car bottomed out more times in Bangalore in a day than it did while in Kerala for months.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by Calcutta roads.
Where are you getting the job done in kochi, if it's not a secret

Re: #ProjectMegapra | The 1000hp Supra Build from Kerala

It's time to get our hands dirty It's dismantling time!

Before that, I saw a few asked where it's being done and who's doing the job..

..and the answer is that it might just be the Maddest DIY Job ever! Yes, it's being done by the owner himself, my good friend, Mithun Vettath (use 'Trust Me, I'm an Engineer' meme here). Big props to him for pulling this off, takes a heck lot of know-how, guts and green!

Rest assured, Team Titan will fly down for final assembly, tuning and testing.

So here is a SitRep,

The car being flatbedded to the workshop where the job is being done.

Guys, the work is being done at really fast pace and Mithun is updating the whole build in real-time on my Whatsapp. My gallery is overflowing with hundreds of pics everyday, but I'm really held up with my work and will update the action every breather I get

Cheers.

Re: #ProjectMegapra | The 1000hp Supra Build from Kerala

I have a cab company and one of my contracts is with Indian Oil and they recently told me that a guy from EKM has given an order for 100 Litres of High octane petrol every month ( I assume the initial agreement is for 1 year ). Are we talking about the same guy here? He was talking about a 700 hp in street tune kind of talks with carbon drag clutches and I was frankly astonished. Someone using drag clutches in Kerala with this power should own a dealership of bridgestone tyres ( or whatever they use )

Wow this is simply magnificent, hats off to Mithun to taking this up and even doing it himself. That seriously requires immense knowledge and know how of the machine. I am glued to this thread and eagerly waiting for the updates.

Re: #ProjectMegapra | The 1000hp Supra Build from Kerala

Long due SitRep on the Megapra,

So as of now the engine build is complete and is in the process of running in the motor for 2000kms (nearing 1000 already) before the rest of the new bits go in. Currently its running about 700ish.

When the build is done, according to the current plan, the car which chuck out around 1200 ponies and north of 1000 at the wheel.

I was in Kochi last month and took we took the car for a spin and boy it pulls!

To answer a few queries,

D33-PAC, sorry for the delayed reply, I missed it earlier. The car runs on aviation gas

Dear Sir, I believe this car appeared today in the Facebook page of "Exotics and Imports Spotted in Kerala" with an awesome entourage.

Has the build been completed? Is it still the 700 horses that was reported here. Eager to know.

Re: #ProjectMegapra | The 1000hp Supra Build from Kerala

I don't normally post on such high HP threads I just drool!

But a Supra just pulls some strings, for me.

Please tell me it has a CarbonFibre hood or something that makes it look super-powered.

Also, one question I always, ALWAYS have in mind after seeing these builds is:
What all needs to be done, to make these insane machines street-legal!?

(For all I have read, engine rebuild, fitting newer components, or anything as much as a change in body color needs to be re-registered. Also remember reading, that getting new engine (all built block) itself is a headache, in terms of making the car street-legal.)

1000hp is beyond my imagination (lol)

Cheers,

Ace.
