Now that is what I call a thread....great going dude. Made for excellent reading!

BTW, if u cast ur mind back by another decade or so, one car that would top this list would be the VW Beetle

Hey you forgot to mention the Mitsubishi GT 3000 and the Audi sedans

Oh yes the 3000GTO. That too was imported alongside the Supra and the 300ZX. Available in turbo and NA version.

Audi's werent pretty famous those years. It was and is still known as Ravi Shastri's car. One thing I love about the old Audi's is its anti-fade and anti-corossive paint. You'll never find a repainted Audi 80/100 or rusting anywhere. Also the quality of its tail lights. Even after 10-15 years they'll still be red/orange.

Another very popular import was the Lexus LS400. Priced a little above the Mercedes E Class, this car offered more features and also had a bigger and more powerful engine.

I hate to spoil the party, but most LS400s were just rebadged Celsiors :P

I'm sure most of you know though.

Infact all of the Lexus models are rebadged Toyota's. Lexus was created solely for the US luxury market but now its sold worldwide including Japan.

Lexus LS = Toyota Celsior
Lexus LX = Toyota Landcruiser
Lexus GX = Toyota Landcruiser Prado
Lexus SC = Toyota Soarer
Lexus RX = Toyota Harrier
Lexus IS = Toyota Altezza
Lexus ES = Toyota Camry

Edit : The LS400 was launched first and then Toyota launched the Celsior in Japan. So the Celsior is a rebadged Lexus.
All the other Lexus' are Toyota derivatives.
