Ferrari inaugurates Mumbai dealership with Navnit Motors

After what was a rather bumpy first run, the prancing horse has finally arrived in India officially. Ferrari has opened its only authorized Mumbai dealership, partnering with Navnit Motors, who already deal in premium brands like Rolls-Royce, BMW, MINI and Jaguar Land Rover.

The showroom located at G2, Platina Building in Bandra Kurla Complex. Here's a little look:

The showroom floor is around 4,000 sq.ft large. The Ferrari dealership replaces the Jaguar-Land Rover showroom that was here earlier:

Legends - a few yesteryear, a few modern day:

Enrico Galliera (centre, with mic), Senior Vice-President Commercial & Marketing - Ferrari SpA, gives us a little brief about the brand's choice of going with Navnit Motors:

The Cars:

The showroom can accommodate up to three cars. Here is the F12 Berlinetta in all her glory!

Sorry, too low for under-body shots :

Even the headlight internals are a work of artistic precision:

6,262cc, naturally aspirated V12 that makes over 730 BHP and 690 Nm of torque - numbers and letters to make you go weak in the knees!

Red car, red caliper and a yellow logo for contrast:

Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to hear the F12 sing:

California T:

A little demo of how the convertible top retracts. It's hard to believe how silent and quick the whole process is:

A little more eye candy:

Yep, every inch of the interior can be tailored to the buyer's taste (more on that later):

They come as CBU but the customization happens at the factory as these cars are usually made by order.

Amazing!

Any idea what will the delay be like for a higher volume model like 488 GTB with these bespoke configurations? I am guessing it will be substantial given the car itself commands a BIG waiting period.

Not sure exactly how much time, but I've seen reports saying the 488 is on a 2-4 year wait-list . At least in the case of the 488, Ferrari is almost booked out for the car's entire production run.

Re: Ferrari inaugurates Mumbai dealership with Navnit Motors

Excellent! Ferrari owners will finally get the service they deserve. Earlier, in the hands of the 'Chor' (related thread), Ferrari owners were treated worse than one who buys a Bajaj Pulsar.

Navnit Motors is a thoroughly professional outfit with a track record of keeping luxury car owners happy. This is good news not only for future Ferrari owners, but even existing ones who had nowhere to go.

Question: Does anyone know where Ferraris will be serviced? Navnit has workshops for BMW & Jaguar-Land Rover. I'm guessing a small part of one of these existing workshops will be marked for Ferrari?

In Andheri East near the existing BMW workshop as far as I know.

My cousin spotted a yellow 458 which had come for servicing (it was on a trailer in the pic he took, don't know the details) when he went to the Fiat service center. I hope that isn't the case now as I'd feel weird sending my Ferrari to a Fiat service center (even though the guys at the Fiat service center might be doing a good job).

I was going to comment on the previous state of Ferrari owners. A while back, someone shared a photo of a 458 being serviced at none other than yours beloved and well known- FIAT ASC in Delhi. Can't find that photo now but it was quite a sight!
And people crib about FIAT's ASS :P.

Re: Ferrari inaugurates Mumbai dealership with Navnit Motors

Got these images a few days ago. Ferrari being serviced at Navnit Maruti service centre

But heard that they were using the BMW workshop at Andheri for Ferrari like Akshay mentioned. Even Rolls Royce cars are serviced there IIRC.

The service staff would have been so exited seeing a hot yellow prancing horse amongst a sea of boring cars

Re: Ferrari inaugurates Mumbai dealership with Navnit Motors

Drool-worthy stuff !!

Thanks Tushar.

Will Navnit Motors be having expertise in dealing with Ferrari ?

How does this work out in case of the Supercar Manufacturers ?

Does the Manufacturer have some kind of certification in dealing with their cars and the dealership can employ only those personnel ?

Re: Ferrari inaugurates Mumbai dealership with Navnit Motors

I attended that launch event on tuesday evening. The event was well planned and executed, was very impressed with the showroom design and fitouts quality. However, there was only one demo car to display, the rest 3 were borrowed customer cars. The caliT was the demo car, the 430 scuderia, F12 and Cali covered in Ferrari silk were customer cars. I was hoping the 488 would be on display but sadly not.
Ferrari would need to keep some inventory of test drive cars that can perhaps be shared by both dealerships(Delhi and Mumbai)

Considering they have been servicing Rolls Royces & BMWs since a decade, I don't see why not. This is a thoroughly professional organisation (much like Auto Hangar & Lamborghini).

We'd all love to have TD cars. But the fact is, these showrooms would sell 2 cars in a good month. It's not possible to maintain a TD fleet, especially when each ride costs multiple crores. Plus, Ferrari has so many models & new updates are released every year. Even Ferrari - the company - doesn't maintain a media fleet in each country. See how they always fly in journalists to Italy?

The only solution is for the showroom owner to buy the most popular model for his personal use and let potential customers drive it.

I myself would never buy a car without a test-drive, no matter what brand it is. Solution = Fly abroad, test-drive all the cars you've shortlisted and then decide. What's 3 lakh rupees on a test-drive holiday when you are spending 3+ crores ?
