I could not read the report in the link since I cannot open it at office.
But an AMT on a 48-50L OTR car?

Even this is a first for the Avanti !

First Indian Supercar
First Supercar without Airbags
First Supercar with AMT
First AMT on a car costing > 10L

I don't think it's a super car.
Nobel M600,McLaren F1, and many more cars don't have airbags.
Aventador has AMT.
Fiat 500 is another amt that is above 10L.
To sum it up, Avanti isn't first when it comes to anything.
First car whose rear end looks like a front end, maybe yes.

Haha, had a good laugh with the 2nd last line of your post . I will agree with you on all the points, except that point though.

The Avanti may not be a supercar according to us, but quoting a part of the definition from the Wikipedia for reference:

Quote:
During the late 20th century, the term supercar was used to describe "a very expensive, fast or powerful car with a centrally located engine", and stated in more general terms: "it must be very fast, with sporting handling to match", "it should be sleek and eye-catching" and its price should be "one in a rarefied atmosphere of its own"
Source: Wikipedia

The Avanti may not have all the features of a full blown sportscar, but it certainly matches the description above, hence can be considered to be a supercar. It is expensive (by Indian standards), it is fast (by Indian standards), and looks sporty in its own right as well, all of which are characteristics of a supercar.

Make no mistake however, although I appreciate DC's efforts to create the first Indian supercar, I am not a fan of it at all, and definitely think that the end product could have been much better on all fronts. Hopefully they make some revisions to it really soon, and make it a much better offering. They need to start with the design of the car, because it is currently not very attractive, nor is it safe, and these are the first two aspects any buyer would look at after the power output .
