Video: 2017 Nissan GT-R teased. EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 1.99 crore

The 2017 Nissan GT-R is nearing its Indian debut. Nissan India has thus teased the supercar through a short video clip featuring Karun Chandhok, the Indian Formula E racing driver. Titled "A Legendary Souvenir", the 23 second long teaser clip gives glimpses of the all-new GT-R.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R made its global debut at this year's New York Motor Show. It is being touted as the biggest change that the GT-R line-up has ever had, ever since it came into production in the year 2007.

On the powering front, the 2017 Nissan GT-R is equipped with a 3.8-litre, twin-turbo, V6 engine, which is basically the same engine that powered the earlier model. But Nissan engineers have tweaked the power mill a bit, as it now gets a 20 BHP bump in power and 5 Nm of extra torque. The output figures thus stand at 565 BHP and 633 Nm.

An earlier video released by Nissan India showed the reaction of people while being in the passenger seat as the GT-R accelerated from a standstill. The new 2017 GT-R is expected to be launched in India around September this year.

Yikes! Talk about instant goosebumps.
I want to see these on our roads so bad. Simply love the minor tweaks and the interior overhaul is much due. (had seen a few pictures, I love it! Especially that handsome leather sports steering wheel.)

Not a big fan of the GT-R, but that is one hell of a teaser! Kudos to Nissan India for this!
Any links to the other teaser?

Probably the first ever sports car advertisement to come on Indian television I think?! Well done by Nissan!

The sad thing I hear is that the very few quantities that are coming to India this year are already accounted for. I would almost sell everything I own to get the GT-R into my garage.

Great car and nice advert. I wish the ad was shot in Japan instead of USA. I think Japan would have expressed the GT-R's heritage and matched the title "A Legendary Souvenir". Karun is perfect for the GT-R ad. R35PECT

Exactly my thought! Even I was not able to comprehend why the ad makers chose the US setting. The Japanese did the unthinkable when they came out with the GT-R, slaying its contemporaries on the racetrack! A Japanese setting would have been apt to bring out this legacy.

Off topic- The day I shifted to Bangalore (temporarily) I only look for GC followed by registration plate . My view made it difficult to admire the beauty but what a car.

The car will loose a bit of identity with shortened rims, re-tweaked power to suit our fuel and added chrome (exaggerated)

Good to see manufactures offering their premium products to Indian car lovers. Indian auto industry do coming off age.

This spy photo is one of the six GT-Rs that arrived at Mumbai airport last week for customs clearance. Since the GT-R is well above US$ 40,000 there is no requirement for a lengthy homologation process and it is expected to launch here sometime early November

Finally some mean machines have landed on Indian soil - Ford Mustang, Nissan GTR, Jeep, Porchse Macan Turbo..

The infrastructure needs to improve (except for cars with off road capabilities) to cater to these advance machines else even after spending large sums in acquiring them, the owner will have very limited opportunities to exploit their potential.
