Does anyone know about what happened to their Jaguar XJ-L and Audi A7? I haven't seen any updates about these cars since 2016.

Some people says they are still running at their Chennai residence while some others says both of these cars were sold long back. What is the reality?

Both are sold and both are cars that didn't leave a mighty impression on them.

XJ still faired better I guess, but have heard some real horror stories with the A7

What's the story of A7? Did it met with any major accident like what happened to his M5 after he sold it?

Though they are no more a part of 369 garage, I am just curious to know what happened to these cars after they sold it, as Parivahan website still says Mammootty is the owner of Jag. It is evident that they parted with the Jag sometime in 2016, so is it still lying unused with some used car dealer waiting for a buyer?

Ha, nothing that sorts. More to do with the famed Audi electricals. Remember him telling me once he tried to pull a 'U'ey on some busy street in Bangalore with the A7 and the car had to be reversed to make the full turn. So he pulled it right close to the pavement and pulled the selector to 'R' but the car simply flashed him a message that this function is 'Not Available' and him wondering what he was supposed to do with that information right then. Stuff like that

The XJ didn't fair much better either and saw most of its time in and out of the shop.

Both the cars have very well left the garage. The XJ has been sold and has been re-registered somewhere in TN. The sites haven't reflected the transfer yet, maybe.

Two standout cars that come to mind are an E53 BMW X5 and an Audi Q7. Both the cars were privately imported by them before BMW or Audi made their foray into the market. If I recall correctly, the Q7 was one of the firsts in the country even.

They had a really well specced E60 525d with an M Performance kit and wheels which were a personal fav, but that was towards late noughties.

IF memory serves me right was this an Yellow X5 , think I have seen this at this favorite spot in those days @ TVM - Hotel Pankaj
I think Mohanlal had a Green Prado around the same time .

It was a black X5.
Yes, Mohanlal had the green prado which was featured in some of his movies (think it was Ravana Prabu).

He had a couple of LandCruisers, X5, Range Rover, 5 Series, Q7 along with the relatively normal Skodas, Pajero, Fortuner etc.

Managed to unearth some old pics of Mammookka’s ex-X5 that I had posted in the Kerala Supercars thread years back. These pics were taken when it was with its second owner. AFAIR, it was HR-regd (and also not #369) when it was with the star and was later re-regd in KL by the 2nd owner. Not sure if the car is still in Kerala.

Wow, all of that would be private imports I guess except Skodas and Pajero. Are the LCs the same ones which are still with DQ now?

No, Mammootty never stuck on to his old cars. He always kept on upgrading to new cars. Dq's LC 100s are pre-owned ones he acquired in the last couple of years.

Following are the LCs that came to 369 garage till date:

• 1999 Land Cruiser J80 - Mammootty imported this LC as brand new in 1999 and was registered in KA. He later sold this car to Malayalam actor Ramu sometime in the early 2000s and took a BMW X5. This particular car was used in some movies like Sharjah to Sharjah, Chadhikkatha Chandhu and Thanthonni.

• 2010 Land Cruiser 200 - This LC was imported by Nippon Toyota with an order from the Actor in early 2010 and its registration number was KL-07-BP-369. It stayed in the 369 garage till 2017 and was replaced by a dark blue facelifted LC200. The second owner added wide-body kits and it still exists somewhere in Malabar area.

• 2017 Land Cruiser 200 - Bought in 2017, this LC didn't stand in the garage for a long time. It was sold to a mobile dealer in Kochi in December 2019 after they booked their new Range Rover Supercharged.

• 1997 Land Cruiser J80 - Dulquer bought this LC in 2016 from Bengaluru and is currently used at his residence in Chennai. He normally uses this car for his long hilly area trips and not to shooting locations I believe.

• 2003 Land Cruiser 100 - This was bought pre-owned in 2018 and is regularly used by Dulquer Salmaan as it is parked in his garage at Panampilly Nagar. After he bought this car, it was repainted at Kochi for FC test. Additions in this car include aftermarket 5-spoke alloys and a Thule roofbox.

• 2000 Land Cruiser 100 - Dulquer added this maroon coloured LC100 also to his collection within a few months after he took his silver 03' LC100. This particular car is mostly seen at Chennai and rarely at Kochi too sometimes.
